And yes, the 58 is a perfectly adequate weapon as long as you don't get into too much shit with it (on the exercises they deliberately let us crawl through all sorts of shit, in reality this sort of thing rarely happens and it's even rarer to need to shoot your gun right after that without being able to inspect/unfuck it).
But the truth is, under conditions like these, the AK will outperform it on account of the overstroke/BC mass as well as better seal, and the AR on account of the vastly superior seal alone.

No "special" tips there (except that the gas block can be cleaned using the striker plugged into the upper handguard for leverage), I found out servicemen everywhere usually end up doing the same things regardless of the rifle they are issued: q-tips, pipe cleaners, kitchen towels off a roll (the good nonwoven fabric stuff that doesn't leave threads behind), shoelaces for the piston. The lazier guys just shove the piston in sand or gravel and stir for a couple minutes.

The fixed stock ended up being something of a curiosity, as pretty much every unit was using folders by the time the rifles started being phased out in favor of the 805.

The new mags also doublefeed a lot less and they've stopped issuing the muzzle brakes that kept sending people to the infirmary even with earpro and burning out the (trash) Meopta NV devices at night.
Then there are the new charging handles that don't cut your palm open anymore when clearing all these failures to chamber. Sure, they break off sometimes, but that's an okay tradeoff, isn't it?

The AR is going to keep mud out of itself better than an AK or a VZ and as such will run more reliably in muddy situations until mud gets inside.
You are never going to be sitting in the woods and have some autistic man with a shovel and wheelbarrow pour mud in your AK and there are other tests where people throw it in the mud and it runs fine.
I think the VZ would have similar issues by just throwing it in some mud.
The AR excels at keeping things out of it's action, but once things get in you have issues and things do eventually get in.
The AK is not as good at keeping things out but can handle more in it's action

The Lee Enfield is actually a pretty dainty design in some ways.
The clearance between the rear receiver bridge and the bolt for instance is microscopic, and there's this iddy biddy little ridge in the right side of the receiver that rides in an iddy biddy groove in the bolt head.
Get some dirt in there and the whole thing's going to grind to a halt.

There are always going to be downsides and upsides to every design.
The Vz for instance has a massive open-top receiver design, which helps tremendously with stovepipe stoppages and the like, but does let in more dirt when the bolt opens up.
If you get something like pic related in an AK or an AR, chances are you're going to have to disassemble the gun to some extent.
While that's never going to phase a Vz58.
On the other hand, that open top may cause a Vz58 to malfunction due to large amounts of debris coming in, while AKs and especially ARs have more protection with open bolts.
The Vz58 is well sealed off with its bolt closed though; so two things need to happen simultaneously for a Vz to jam due to dirt:
1) the gun has to be slathered in gunk
2) the gun has to be fired while slathered in gunk
If the people in OP's vid had done a quick wipe of the bolt carrier area (which you should always do before firing with any gun that's covered in shit), the thing would have probably kept on ticking.
