Yay or nay?
>>
Why
>>
>>28682337
what about buffer tube?

how does this work?
>>
>>28682337
How?
>>
Does it work with 9mm AR?
>>
>>28682373
Its an adapter.
>>
>>28682381
Yes.
Is also works with AR10 308.
>>
>>28682385
That doesn't answer the question. Does the buffer tube fold as well? Is it a blowback action or something weird and proprietary?
>>
>>28682373
>>28682374
Buffer tube attaches to folder. Can't (shouldn't) be fired when folded
>>28682337
I mean if you wanna blow $300 for a mostly useless part. [spolier]I do[/spoiler]
>>
>>28682396
So is it compatible with normal buffer springs and buffers then?
>>
>>28682400

what? the spring folds with the stock?
>>
>>28682416
>"The rear portion of the adapter is built to the same specifications as a standard receiver to ensure maximum compatibility."
>>
>>28682337
I'd prefer the Troy PDW kit instead.
>>
>>28682400
>$300
Bleah.
>>
>>28682441
That is a really cool concept, the main competitor to that kind of setup is
>>28682452
but the benefit of this is that you still can get cheek weld.
>>
>>28682398
Buffer tube, instead of screwing into the receiver ring, now screws into the folding adapter. The adapter itself then screws into the receiver ring, between the receiver and buffer tube. This gives it the folding capability, and provides a little "tooth" to retain the bolt in case you were to fire it while the stock is folded. You'd only get one round off then you must extend the stock and then cycle the empty casing out.

It's stupid but I like it.
>>
>>28682486
can you provide a picture of what the tube and bolt carrier look like when it's folded like that?

i'm curious to see how the carrier stays in the upper when it's folded
>>
I have seen reports of older versions of this adapter suffering parts breakage from even a single instance of firing with the stock folded, is this still the case or is that remedied?

but why?
>>
>>28682575
I dont know how anyonr would think that this should be fired while folded. Lurk more if you dont understand why it cant
>>
>>28682591
We all know it can't cycle while folded however most reviews of it involve people trying it anyway, being able to fire once while folded then unfolding and cycling the empty would be a useful feature for this as otherwise carrying the rifle folded adds a full extra action to be able to fire.
>>
>>28682629
yeah, youre also making the buffer system incredibly more complicated without much gain. The fact that it requires more steps to fire is an obvious draw back to the luxury of a more compact form of transportation. The way the piston is designed in the AR, firing without it being able to unlock is stupid

Yay, has its place especially on SPR's
>>
>>28682580
>US SIG
Because I don't want my weapons to come with complementary rust.
>>
>>28682566
Boku no google.
To note, this is a Gen 2, which were made out of aluminum. They were too weak to reliably be fired folded.
The current gen, gen3, is made of steel and can safely be fired folded.
>>
>>28682720
So the gen 3 can be fired while folded on multiple occasions without parts breakage now? Has the capability to do that been mentioned by the company at all or been tested by any reviewers to see how much it can be done without damaging the adapter, because if it is able to fire while folded now and then without damage then I might just pick one up.
>>
>>28682720
stupid and pointless feature.
"Thank god I had 1 freehanded shot before I needed to unfold the rifle anyway, then charge it, then I could fire again."

It would be faster just to unfold the fucking thing from the get go
>>
>>28682794
I think it makes sense from a storage aspect only. A really expensive storage feature.
>>
>>28682781
the company says you can fire it folded without breakage.

and heres Sagedynamics doing just that
https://youtu.be/P8Yqf-3Jy3c?t=321
>>
>>28682781
I severely doubt it would last very long, but it can definitely be done. Manufacturer doesn't recommend doing it but it still can. Basically all the force is being applied to a steel tab, it'll get worn or bend eventually.

Personally I just use a gas shutoff valve on mine, but that's another story.

>>
>>28682823
Thanks for the info, I might have to get this, think we'll see it for more like 250 anytime soon?
>>
>>28682461
>you still can get cheek weld
All of the PDW-style stocks are fine for cheek weld unless you're one of those guys trying to snort coke off their charging handle or using some garbage scope with an eye box ten feet behind your head.

Folding stocks are nice when getting in and out of cars.
>>
So does this change anything legally?

It can fire when folded but then it's considered a pistol and not a sbr, right?

>>
>>28684553
What does the back of it look like?
>>
>>28684567
It is flat and solid, no hole.
>>
>>28684601
Nope, it's fucked.
I'm sure it's easy to rig something up though, all you need is an extra inch on the back.
>>
>>28682429
you don't know much about how buffer tubes work, do you?

i just know i find these pics sexy as fuck
>>
>>28682337
Will it work on an A1/A2 fixed stock?
>>
>>28684859
You could probably make the supressor have really loose tolerances.

probably reduce the effectiveness but might increase safety slightly.

like firing a 9mm out of a 45

The market (you) aren't demanding it enough, you keep asking for more AR15s. Tell them enough is enough we're not settling for second best anymore.
