MUH TALON GRIPZ EDITION

should I get the rubberized or granulate for my shield.
>>
>>28573613
Rubber unless you like the feeling of sandpaper rubbing on you all day, not to mention it will fucking eat your clothing.
>>
>>28573613
man, hickok got some well worn hands

Yes.

I have them on an XDS and a Pico. Good stuff.
(Pico sucks, desu. Would be completely unusable without the talons.)

>>
>>28573613
Rubberized. Sandpaper talon grips are shit for carry, they just lach onto your shirt like velcro, so you're printing constantly. Plus it's uncomfortable to have dig into your back. The rubber ones are also grippier than you might expect.

Would /k/ recommend an Ithaca 37 or Hawk 982 (or 981) for home defense in PRC? I won't be moving to America for a while until I've saved up enough money, so until then I'll try to find ways to piss off the local rabble such as Feinstein and others. I figure the aforementioned shotguns would be an affordable way to be a nuisance but I could save up more and get a KSG, thoughts /k/?

Question: Where the hell did Oppenheimer go? I miss him ;_;

And zed's gone too, not that i would care about him
>>
>>28578630
It depends on where you live.
My old friend did it when he came back from Vietnam and did ok. I got into it and sometimes it's not worth the time and labor. I can invest my time into my fire wood and make more.
>>
>>28578212
Steel case means bi-metal jackets. I believe bi-metal jackets run a higher chance of causing fires in the backstop.
>>
>>28578791
zeds been gone for a long time, like years long desu, he occasionally appears briefly but not often
OPpenheimer surfaces with his trip now and again in relevant threads, he always said he only used it when necessary/relevant and posts as anon the rest of the time, and he stopped posting his own threads pretty much entirely after getting doxxed

Like wood you chop? I don't really have much land for that kind of thing and would probably just chop for myself anyway as I like my forests, at least around me.
>>
>>28578964
Like I said zed will reappear briefly and I'll see him on here for a week/maybe 2 then he'll be gone again for ages. By years I mean since I last would see him posting fairly regularly.

And yeah it sucks that OPpen ended up feeling he had to step back from here a fair bit, then again it does sound like he got kinda careless with personal info which he of all people should have known not to do, on here of all places. Can a country get their gun rights back after losing them?
>tfw self defense is not a valid reason to own a gun

No.
Hornady steel case uses regular copper alloy bullet jackets. There may be others as well.
Plenty of brass case ammo uses bi-metal jackets as well.

>To make a silencer in the USA without a license, the ATF form 1 is used. It can be obtained from the ATF website by ordering it for free, or downloading. Look here for all of the ATF forms that can be downloaded. http://www.atf.gov/forms/firearms/ Here is the ATF form 1 http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-1.pdf It has to be printed out double sided and in duplicate. You will also need form 5330.20 to certify yourself as a resident or citizen. http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5330-20.pdf Finger print cards can be ordered here; http://www.atf.gov/forms/dcof/ . You will also need two passport sized photos. They can be Polaroid’s, paper copies, anything, even copied and pasted onto an online version of the form and printed out. They need to be recent though. If you were born in 1959 and it shows a teenage version of yourself, it may be sent back for correction.

>The form has to be signed by the chief law enforcement office in your jurisdiction. This is usually the local sheriff or Chief of Police. If the sheriff will not sign, you can ask a judge or attorney general in your county. They are not authorizing you to own a silencer or anything like that. They are merely saying there is no reason you would not be allowed to own one. They cannot be held liable for any crimes you commit with the silencer in the future. They can also not be forced to sign, and some will not. The sheriff can refuse to sign for any reason. Tennessee is the only state as far as I know that requires by law that the sheriff sign the forms for anyone who is allowed to own a firearm.
it may be cheaper to have someone licensed make it and then transfer it to you, i don't know i'm extremely tired.
you'd contact one of the many suppressor manufactures and ask them if they could do it and how much it'd run

Dumb question.

Is there anything bad about installing a lower power recoil spring?

I'd like to replace the factory guide rod for a stainless one, but they recommend using a different spring. One of the generic upgrades seems to be a lower recoil spring weight... I'd like to eventually do a few home enhancements and spring swaps to get a better trigger weight. I know reducing spring weight in some elements has down sides, like weak primer strikes, is there anything bad about reducing the recoil spring?

Prior service here, can any other prior service tell me how long I need to wait to receive my first BAH payment using chapter 33?

Everything has been approved, the VA is tracking, etc. etc. Just wondering if you end up getting your BAH at the first of the month when the semester starts or after the first 30 days of the semester stats.
IE Semester starts aug 10 and you get your BAH sep 10 or do you just get it aug 1 as a prorated amount?

Depends what gun.
Frame cracking comes to mind.
How the gun handles (recoil spring can be used to somewhat tune it to your likes for returning to target).
Much too light and may have trouble stripping and chambering the next round.
