I'm kind of worried about future trouble t.bh. Not the first time I've had trouble with blacks, they're always aggressive and looking for trouble.
I've already started weight training these past few months and plan on taking up boxing when term starts.
I'm 6'3" and kind of fat, but am fairly strong. Even so I would like an edge if there's trouble, though I'm under no illusion as to my own capabilities and will definitely get rekt in anything other than a 1v1.

Ive been considering buying a heavy padlock and a chain or a long bike lock for practical and self defense reasons. I can say the padlock is for my garden gate or lokcing my bike up, and I can say the long bike lock or chain is to lock up my bike.
If I put them together, I can swing it about in case somebody is threatening me.

OP here, made a blackjack out of all the coppers in my money box. Was thinking of getting cheap rings as well, any help as to where from whould be appreciated. Looked into knives under 3" but you need a "good reason" for one of those, and self defence is not one of them so that's out. The wrench/umbrella and fishing weight club would count as offensive weapons here, so it's a no to those.
