What everyone already said, plus logistics. Say an infantryman needs 10 kilos of supplies per day. That includes food, water, ammunition, replacement parts, average artillery expended in support, and fuel. You have a division of between 10,000 and 20,000 men. That's around 150 tons of cargo per day, per division.
Say, between them, they throw 100 divisions at the US. Never mind they don't have that number available on the TOE. That would mean they would need, to feed their million to two million troops, you'd need between 10 and 20 kilotons of supplies, per day. On top of that, you need to carry fuel for tanks and APCs, ordinance for heavy weapons, and engineering equipment. The only way you're getting that through is by sea.
Now, freighters can carry an ungodly amount of cargo. A single large container ship has a maximum cargo capacity of between 100 and 200 kilotons, assuming its packed to the brim and all its containers are filled with dense materials. A better assumption would be between 75 and 100 kilotons, which should mean two ships ought to be able to maintain operations for a week. But container ships are big and slow and easy targets and the US has a sub fleet with over 50 active attack subs. And contrary to any propaganda you might hear, they blow China and Russia's stealth tech out of the water. Literally. So they would need to split the cargo into multiple freighters, and add an escort. Then expect at least a few losses each trip. At the same time, the USN, which has more ships than the rest of the world combined, is launching punitive strikes against the Chinese and Russian ports and other shipping as well as hitting any convoys they can.
The whole thing adds up to the Chinks and Russkies running through their entire merchant marine in a month or two, then their entire army withering on the vine.

The reason they don't invade is because it's easier just to purchase whatever they want. If they had the will to they could just crash the economy, force the majority of wherever into debt, then foreclosure. Then they just buy up as many resources or land or politicians as they need to do whatever they please. For example: If China wants coal then they'll just make sure that the mines keep producing, and that no one makes a law to shut the mines down. Why send 100,000 troops when 100,000 dollars works just as well?

Not in terms of mouths to feed. If we lost Imperial Valley, we'd probably have also lost the Bay Area, so net would probably be more food per capita. And even if they just did an herbicide run on the place, the Great Plains could easily handle feeding all the people. They just have to be happy with staple crops and fewer grapes, citrus fruits, and leafy greens.
