Hello /k/ long time listener first time caller. I'm cleaning up an old vets house that recently passed and his son isn't taking good care of it. He has a pretty big collection and I'd like to document it for old times sake. Pic related it's one of several.

It was called the Tybee island incident off of the coast of South Carolina, it was an exercise mission so the actual nuclear core wasn't installed. My neighbor was escorting the bomber but his radar was faulty and it was much closer than he thought so he ended up ramming the back. It sent him and the nuke into the swamps where he was found the next day with pretty bad hypothermia and frostbite, almost lost his fingers. They still haven't found the warhead.

I live across the street, my dad and mom are medical and my dad likes guns and is in the military too. I was raised going to his place with my parents and hearing his stories. Today the son asked me to come over and let out the dogs, the place had a lot of junk on the ground so I cleaned it up and decided to document these so I could save them. All of these were only in one part of the house since I didn't want to go somewhere I wasn't invited.

Ask if you can clean them up, apply some grease and wrap them for storage. That way they'll be in good shape should you want to make an offer later, or just for general preservation.
As this was a spur of the moment thing I wasn't able to get even half of the guns just in that room. There were several rifles and shotguns too but I couldn't tell which were good or not. If I ever get to go back I will be sure to take more photos. Im glad that /k/ appreciates all this historical stuff with me. I will gladly answer any other questions.

My dad knows about the house but unfortunately he doesn't have interest in collecting guns that he's not going to hunt with. Yeah the son inherited the house and doesn't do much but hunt.
