135 Gr. Critical duty or 147 Gr Hornady XTP.
out of my G19, they both perform well enough and I can find both locally. they only down side to the 147, is they set back very easily because they don't crimp them. And I have yet to buy a 9mm crimp die.
my 3rd choice if I can't find either, is 115 Grain Critical Defense. but I do prefer a heavier bullet.

90gr Federal Hydra-Shok in my 2.2" Micro Eagle .380
Because I looked up ballistics tests and they both work well in their respective calibres and barrel lengths.

Despite being shitty old tech in larger calibres, they inexplicably work well in .380, even in short barrels. Out of a Micro Eagle they will still somewhat mostly reliably expand through denkm and penetrate 12"

Here in Wisconsin we deal with that as well. You may want to consider defense rounds that are plastic tipped as well as plastic backed. They will penetrate through a down jacket, sweatshirt, t-shirt, undershirt into flesh and then when it stops penetrating the back plastic helps force everything out for maximum damage.

Supreme SXT in my .40. Though I might blow them off and get some fresher carry ammo, they are getting a bit older.
I usually carry 124gr Federal HST.
If I carry my 1911 (rarely do) then 230gr Gold Dots.

My dad has a box of hydrashoks that he's saved since the mid-90's. He's convinced that the ammo has been banned or discontinued (maybe hes confusing it with black talons. I'm not sure). He ignores me when I show it to him online. He also believes that it's the deadliest defense ammunition money can buy. I think he must have read a gun magazine article or something back then and it really made an impression on him.

Sounds metal as fuck.
Good expansion out of a 2". Recoil is fine even out of a 15oz gun. I haven't seen a JHP in this caliber that will expand reliably at the low velocities a 2" offers.

Can you hint on where you're seeing it? All I can find is Remington Gold Sabre, which is pretty decent I guess, but would much prefer some HSTs.
