When I worked as a contractor in the UK, Germany, and France I found a lot of the people hated me simply because I was American. I wasn't obnoxious, I did my job, I kept to myself, yet everyone was so self-centered and were so stuck-up and arrogant they didn't care.
I kept to myself, did my work, and after 8 year total of living in Yurop I was finally happy to return home.
That's also when I realized just how lucky I have it in America. Sure it's got flaws, especially here in my home state of Colorado, but in most major European cities I rarely saw Europeans. Most of the people I saw were North Africans, or Arabs. Rarely did they even speak German or French, much less English.

Essentially the executive order is clarifying what it means to be a firearms dealer, with the goal of getting more gun sales to require a background check. People are upset because they don't like the idea of the executive acting without the legislative branch to make law, a legitimate philosophical/legal concern that I agree with, but in all honestly the practical impact of this law will be minuscule. I used to bleed patriotism but as I grow older and more cynical I have a hard time being proud of America. Left and Right are both just watered down hive minds ready to march in lock step with the party regardless if goes against their ideals.
