>Look up VEPR 7.62x39mm rifle to get
>see pic related and admire the beautiful firearm
>It must be complient with the 922r law
>can only have ten or less foreign parts on the imported rifle and any more parts that is foreign will break the 922r law
>the rifle has 14 foreign parts already when it comes over here
>has to be ten or below to be legal in the united states or you will have some trouble with the law
>realize that means I will be forced to literally replace the parts in the rifle when it comes over here with off the shelf us brand made parts just to make it legal or at least get the foreign parts down to at least 9 so I can have one different foreign part in it
>I really want the russian rifle and I want to add the russian scope to it but I can't because of the 922r

Goddamnit I'm literally fucking stressed out from the fact that the VEPR rifles have more than ten factory parts in the rifle and I hate it more that I have to replace the parts with none foreign parts just to make it a legal gun here in this country.

Fucking goddamnit I just want the gun and the russian optic but I can't because the gun literally has more parts in it that needs them to make it work properly but the law makes it immediately not a legal gun since it is over the ten foreign part limit.

Fuck I'm fixing to have a heart attack from my stress level over this how the fuck am I supposed to get this gun and enjoy shooting it without being force to cram US parts in the gun and take out the russian parts that came with it because of a goddamn 922r!
>>
>>28435076
First off, nobody in the history of the world has ever been charged solely on a 922r violation, it's mostly something to string onto other charges

Second, can they prove that the parts are foreign made?
>>
>>28435076
I don't think you understand how 922 works. If you modify it from its original form, THEN you have to have a certain number of parts be US made. But if you don't modify it at all, it's fine. And the pic you posted if from Atlantic, so obviously its already legal.
>>
Add scope
Don't tell anyone
???
PROFIT!
>>
>>28435076
>caring about 922r
>implying a scope or mount are on the list of 922r parts
>implying they would be able to import it if it didnt meet the 922r requirements

I know and it is fucking retarded

Literally a law that says "hurr durr no problems if you use AMURICAAAN GURNS BUT IF IT'S A SOVIIEEEET FURN DEN HURRRR DURRR NO MORE DEN TEEEEEN PARTS HAHAHAHAHA WHATS THAT?! IT HAS MORE PARTS IN IT BUT IT NEEDS DEM PARTS!?!?! TOO FUCKING BAD GET AMERUCAAAAAN BRAN PARTS DEN FAAAAAAAG HURRRR DURRRRR!!!!!!!" fuck this shit

>>
>>28435158
how would adding a scope be violating 922r?
>>

It's not breaking the law if an American distributor is legally selling the gun, and scopes don't factor into the equation here.

Neither the scope mount or the scope counts to or against 922r, ya dingus.

Wow you slavaboos get ass mad so easily

Just get a Mini 14, they come in stainless as well, and the new ones are much more accurate than slavshit

>Defending 922r at all

Thanks for letting us know how much of a retard you are
>>
>>28435178
It's a foreign part and that would add up to the 922r law

Literally the only way I would be able to stay in legal terms is if I use only us made parts like scopes or anything else that is US made and not imported.

The 922r is making me afraid to even get the vepr now because it has more than ten foreign parts in it and knowing that I have to take out four russian parts in it to replace it with american parts just to make it a legal gun is already enough to give me stress
>>
>>28435194

>you can buy a not bad ar for like $500 these days
>>28435158
>27" barrel
literally why?
>>
>>28435076
You may be too stupid and autistic to understand how 922r works. Neither of those rifles is subject to 922r in their current form.
>>
>>28435210
no. it only counts the parts that are on the list.
>(1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or stampings
(2) Barrels
(3) Barrel extensions
(4) Mounting blocks (trunions)
(5) Muzzle attachments
(6) Bolts
(7) Bolt carriers
(8) Operating rods
(9) Gas pistons
(10) Trigger housings
(11) Triggers
(12) Hammers
(13) Sears
(14) Disconnectors
(15) Butt stocks
(16) Pistol grips
(17) Forearms, hand guards
(18) Magazine bodies
(19) Followers
(20) Floorplates

any other part on the rifle can be made on the moon as far as the law is concerned. its perfectly legal to add a russian scope to a rifle that already has 10 foreign parts
>>
>>28435210
Have you read any of the fucking responses at all? Scopes are NOT 922r listed parts. FFS google it already. Buy the damn gun and put the damn scope on it. I guarantee you hundreds of Americans already have the same setup.
>>
Hey that looks just like my vepr use to look like.
>>
>>28435240
I'm afraid to buy the gun because it has 14 parts already in it when it is to be imported over here and those parts are important to the function of the rifle and haveing 14 foreign parts is already over the ten limits

I hope your right on the scope not being counted to the list but the fact that rifle has more than ten already is enough to actually make me not want to risk breaking the gun law
>>
>>28435212
>AR
>not bad
>$500

Not really, $600-700 is more realistic. My coyote build was $900 + scope, but that's because I used a headspaced match grade barrel and bolt I got on sale

That said a Mini really isn't a bad gun, and I would pick one over an AR for plinking or SHTF. Mine shoots just as accurately at 100yds as the AR

The AR does give you a lot more mounting points if doing NVG though (which I plan on once I get enough cash out together)
>>
>>28435266
You have a foreign part that is more than 14 that includes the AK47 russian magazine which in the terms of the 922r law is against it.

How many parts did you have to replace inside with US brands to be able to have a conversion to legally use a foreign magazine in it?
>>
>>28435268
You are literally stressing over nothing. How in the hell would they know the origins of an unmarked part? If you are so worried you can buy some letter punches and USA on ever little part you heart desires.
>>
>>28435287
no bud it completely legit. I had a buddy that does woodworking make an exact replica stock set. Another buddy of mine made a trigger kit, piston and bolt carrier, and the entire magazine for me. ALL EXACT 100% REPLICAS OF THE ORIGINAL BUT MADE IN THE GOOD OL U S OF A.
>>
>>28435268
GODDAMMIT DO YOU FUCKING LISTEN??

The gun...In order to be legally sold in the United States will already be in a LEGAL CONFIGURATION. You don't have to fucking change anything, and adding a scope does not affect 922r.

Am I getting through to you at all here?
>>
>>28435287
Ok I refuse to believe you are serious at this point. ATF takes any chance they can get to fuck over firearm dealers, if Veprs actually broke 922r compliance then every dealer that has ever sold a Vepr would be getting fucked right about now.
>>
>>28435341
Right? Am I just getting fucking trolled super heavy or what?
>>
you idiot ( i still love you)
the law just requires certain parts to be American. they are imported and sold to you in a legal configuration. parts like the stocks, flash hiders and trigger groups are swapped for American made ones. It's a BULLSHIT law, no arguments there, but you have nothing to worry about buy it and rest assured that the blame would fall on the manufacturer or retailer if you were sold an illegal rifle

But the 922r says only 10 foreign parts or lower and the VEPR has more than 14 foreign parts in it already.

I don't want to face the ATF attention when they find out that I have a russian rifle that came with more parts that violated the 922r law

I don't want to get a heart attack from that worrisome
>>

Because of the long range and accuracy with a longer barrel also it looks like it is fitted more for long range shooting anyway

I'm not even trolling or lying I'm sorry but the law strictly prohibits any foreign parts that exceeds the 10 limit and the factory made rifle is made with 14 or more in it thus already going against the law and it does not matter if the stock is shaped different or the forearm is different the matter of the fact is that there needs to be only ten foreign parts in order for it to be a legal rifle in the united states of america by federal law.

I don't want to go to prison for violating the 922r so basically I'm forced to either remove the russian parts and get american parts for it so I can legally own it or just stick to buyijg american guns only.

Not OP, but since we're on the subject of vepr's, how does it shoot .308 on the .308 models? Namely the Vepr Hunter?
Is it a good alternative to the other 308 rifles?
>>
>>28435464
See you're saying the same thing again that we already addressed. The gun is already legal so you don't have to change anything. It will have been made 922r compliant BEFORE it is sold in the US.

Now tell me please what is fucking difficult about that?
>>
Someone screencap this thread holy shit op is one special faggot
>>
>>28435475
>Hunter
>not Super

They shoot .308 fairly accurately. They're kind of heavy. The only real issue is getting spare parts.
>>
>>28435476
The gun has 14 or more parts built in it in russia.

The law says only 10 foreign parts are allowed on an imported rifle which includes the eternal parts.

Once the rifle is over here it has to follow the 922r law and I can't do so with it because there is more foreign parts in it so I have to remove them to lower the number of the russian parts there is and replsce them eith american parts or to just give up and go for american guns only.

I don't understand why they would even try to sell it over here if it is not following the 922r law on the limited number of parts.
>>
>>28435498
Get a Remington 700 in a large caliber and make sure it's an old rifle not those new ones because I heard the new ones have the trigger problems but not the old ones trust me on this.

Because the old Remington 700 has the special trigger system that is much better than any other triggers plus you can safely store the rifle with the round in the chamber just as long you have the safety on after setting the trigger friend.

Thats a long fucking barrel

Does the svt scope even match up with modern commercial loads and the barrel of that gun or is it solely for the original svt rifle only?
>>
>>28435535
No it's not

Communist guns are consistently built with inferior metal, inferior springs (they actually have to wrap two strands of spring wire together for some because they lack the metallurgical capability for making large diameter spring steel), and consistently display poor workmanship

Contrast the rough castings, crooked stamps, and corrosion prone barrels on a Mosin, Nagant revolver, SKS, or AK to the accurately machined forgings, precision engraving, and wide variety of barrels of an American made AR or 1911

Which would you rather invest your money and potentially life in?
>>
>>28435578
>why is cheap, 60 year old milsurp less reliable than a current production firearms
for $800, a current production VEPR will do anything an $800 AR will, with only minor difference in accuracy and much better reliability with cheap ammunition .
>>
>>28435596
>only minor difference in accuracy

KEK, maybe shooting bottom of the barrel milsurp ammo

>better reliability when shooting cheap ammunition

Get a reloading press, a decent progressive setup will make quick work of a couple hundred rounds and you will be able to have real ammunition for the same price as steel case garbage

Unless you shoot with the same ammo you hunt with, you're not really improving much.
>>
>>28435621
>just spend more money and time and you can do everything those cheap guns can do
not everyone has enough for the initial investment or enough time to make it worthwile

and a VEPR is just over 1 moa with spam can ammo btw
>>
>>28435631
>1 moa with spam cans

You mean the only ammo people will put through a Vepr because they're pieces of overpriced trash?

That's not particularly impressive, especially since it was probably done on a bench rest under ideal conditions.

My AR with a 3-9x Nikon scope does .5 moa consistently when on a table with reloads, 1 moa when braced against a fencepost or branch, and I'm hardly the best shooter out there
