Talk me out of buying this /k/
Alternatively, tell me about your experiences and enjoyment with it. Here's what I'm thinking:

1. I have the disposable cash (it's just a little over $200)
2. I collect guns
3. I don't have a backup to my primary CC
4. I can carry it in situations where carrying my primary CC would be impractical

Like what tucking it under your nutsack when you're in swimming trunks?
>>
>>28432530
Like into doctor appointments. jogging shorts, and nogun areas.

I own a pug, it's a bitch to shoot accurately, but it's something.
>>

lol no, I meant like at my job. The type and amount of physical labor we do guarantees that my regular carry would be spotted eventually, and if I got caught with a gun there I'd be fired. Something like this would fit right in my pocket though.

I know you're joking but I'm gonna start looking for scrotum holsters for this thing as soon as I get it.

Don't even get a holster just take your ballsack and tape it to your leg in an L shape so you can use your nutsack as a holster itself.

Pic highly related.

On a real note though, get it if you have the money, but a derringer would probably be better.

take this thing for example. I wanted it for all the reasons you listed until I handled it. It wasn't even comfortable to shoot and one of the few examples of something being truly outdated and usless.
I have also shot and NAA before and it was the same thing. Wasn't practical, wasn't worth the money and wasn't even fun which is the whole point in buying something like that
look elsewhere and spend your money on something ridiculous but fun
>>
>>28433005

Do you mean those 2.75" 2 round break actions?
I'm looking at them on cheaperthandirt and they're a good $50-$80 cheaper and come in .38 special which is definitely better than 22LR, but only holding 2 rounds compared to 5?
I'm not sure, anon, but I am beginning to be swayed.

Fucking do it, I own one and I love the thing, I take it outside when I'm pissing my dogs, no one knows you have it and you can have it fully loaded and set between chambers and stick in in your pocket, it's a little hard to actually aim and shoot but in a nick it's perfect, loud as fuck too.
>>
>>28433833
I mean if you're cool with burning the money, but you have to really consider how you're going to use it if you need to.

Chances are if you need to use it, you are most likely fucked anyway, but it would be better than throwing the hardest object in arms length and throwing it, which you can still do with this thing after you shoot it.

Butter than nothing, but a .38 snubby with a shaved hammer would be much better and you can pick one up for <$400.
>>
>>28433894
>ut it would be better than throwing the hardest object in arms length and throwing i
grabbing the hardest object in arms reach*
>>
>>28433894

About being fucked anyway, you're probably right but if nothing else it'll make me feel better to have it in my pocket. I almost always have my regular carry on me (Glock 19), but like I was saying I can't keep it on me at work or it would definitely get spotted at some point.
The low price (just over $200 for the 22, or just under $200 for the 2 shot 38) is one of its' major appeals to me too, keep that in mind.

What are the safety features on that 2 shot break barrel anyway? The 22 revolver has a notched cylinder so the hammer doesn't accidentally strike a round, what about the Derringer?
>>
>>28432428
>>
>>28434014
I don't have any experience with the derringer nor the .22 revolver, but really it's ill suited if you're life depends on it. If you have $200 to spend and want a backup gun and a gun that can be concealed much better then go with something else and save the $200 for now.

If you really want to blow it on the .22 revolver though, go right ahead. It seems like it would be fun to shoot, but I definitely wouldn't trust my life to it.

Pic related might be better, but this anon has a great point >>28434082

The one benefit I'd see to a derringer or a revolver is that you can fire it in your pocket.

Is a good idea as well. While a derringer or OP's seem fun and extremely hidable those others seem like better opinions.

Also was gonna make a thread about this but this is close enough too it, anyone use one of these things? There seems too be this cheep ass derringer like gun I found online recently, they seem too make multiple models, most of them fire 45 or those thin shotgun shells(newgunfag forgot proper name) like a judge but a cheaper and shittier, other ones are O/U, D/B or a six shoot 22. Anyone ever use one of these things? There like 70-150 bucks.

Yeah, Ive shot one before. It hurts like a motherfucker. Also, you need a rod to eject the rounds and one of the ones the guy owned malfunctioned to where you cant switch barrels, it just fires both.

I've got a 22lr/22mag conversion mini with the 1-5/8" barrel. The story of me owing it is shooting it once (maybe 50 rounds), cleaning it, and then putting it in the case to occasionally fondle. While fondling, had the main spring and whatever part actually turns the cylinder to index the next chamber break with the same cocking of the hammer. E-mailed NAA about it (I'm pretty sure this was a freak occurrence) and they approved it for warranty repair and sent me their fedex account in the same day. I mailed it the next morning (tuesday), they got it wednesday, replaced the 3 parts that failed, polished some tiny scratches I had put in it while opening it up myself and shipped it back thursday and I got it friday with not a penny out of pocket from me. Honestly I've never experienced better customer service.

tl;dr
>havent and probably wont carry it
>but damn NAA has that customer service shit down
>still a neat gun

And one more bump for fun before I go to work. I'm considering holding back now, and waiting for more opinions. For those who don't wanna read the whole thread, here's my new question:

Should I go with a 2 shot break barrel .38 Derringer, or the NAA 5 shot .22lr revolver?

The major appeals to me are the size (small enough to comfortably keep in your pocket) and the price (under $300)
>>

I have one of the old ones. Gonna buy some better grips. New ones have a neat safety notch in the cylinder to allow safe carry, but mine does not.
It's very snappy, but fun to shoot. But hitting a coffee cup at ten feet was iffy, and the rounds blatantly keyholed. However, newer .22 mag ones may work fine as a backup.
>>
>>28438594
I should add, it's a neat gun. I can fit the gun in a shirt pocket and it's invisible. But my big hands make it hard to shoot comfortably, and I don't know much about .22lr, so I'm still looking for the best "defensive" .22lr choice. Still, it's a neat gun, and the fit and finish are absolutely top-notch.
>>
>>28436141
Really tiny grip that is mostly not well formed metal. A lot of rough edges on the gun too that apply a lot of pressure in certain areas, especially on the middle finger that rests under the trigger. I was shooting .410 out if it. Most of the recoil is absorbed into the palm and it isn't dispersed very well through the hand.
>>28436436
Yeah you got a point there. I just really hate .25 but out of that barrel length they are pretty comparable.
>>
>>28433833
The trigger on the cb9 is kind of wonky, you have to pull down and down at the same time to shoot it. It's only two shots, so if you do go with this, get some good hollow points for it. It's stricly an up close and dirty gun. You're probably better off saving up and getting something better with a little pocket holster.

The sights are shit as there's no rear sight, pic related is the correct sight picture. Unless you're willing to go to one of the slightly larger ones that actually has a rear sight (though those are almost the size of a Ruger LCP or S&W Bodyguard) I'd recommend passing up on it. Also the stock grips on the .22lr one are shit and the gun will flip up in your hand requiring you to adjust your grip each time. On top of that you're going to have a problem finding any ammo including non expanding shit that will meet the recommended minimum penetration for self defense. Overall the NAA mini revolvers are good for novelty purposes only and if you want something for concealed carry you should find a Colt Vest Pocket, Baby Browning, or other similar size quality .25 ACP pistol as .25 ACP performs significantly better from short barrels (14"-15" penetration from a 2"-2.5" barrel with ball ammunition) and isn't rimfire and one of those pistols won't have the limitations of a single action revolver that flips up in your hands every time you shoot.

Its a derringer, what more do you want to know? Iit holds two shots, is a pain in the ass to reload and the only cool factor is they make them in more caliber then .41 now so it can be a trail/snake gun and maybe a range toy if you don't mind the way it shoots and reloads
complete novelty, not that theres anything wrong with that

Pleb,
You don't use the sights, you point and use instinctive shooting.practice shooting in sand or water.see where bullets go ,compensate.pretty soon your on target.also called Kentucky shooting, they don't like to use gun sights down there.
Also good method to shoot down helicopter with hand gun.never hit one by aiming.
Move in small circles at said heilo, when it feels right pull trigger.

OP, I have one of these tiny revolvers. I bought it back when you could visit the factory for a tour and buy one of their factory seconds (very minor cosmetic flaw, usually hard to even find) for about 25% off dealer cost. I've never regretted the purchase, and not just because I was able to get it for something like $120.

If you want one, just be aware of what you're really getting. They are very well made. I mean, seriously good workmanship and machining, but the barrel is short so muzzle velocity is lousy. If I did it again, I'd get the slightly longer of the two barrel sizes available and I'd get a combo gun instead of just the 22lr. The combo version is the 22mag frame, but comes with two cylinders, one for each caliber.

It's single action, and there is a half cock position but I'd still recommend carrying hammer down on an empty chamber, which means you only get 4 shots.

Sights? Don't fucking bother. You're not going to be using this revolver at any distance further than the distance at which you'd have a conversation with someone.

It's fine for a last-ditch weapon, and you hide it practically anywhere since it's so tiny. But as your main carry weapon on a daily basis? Well, I guess it's better than nothing.
>>
>>28453196
>TFW OP's doctor is going to mug him during a rectal exam
OP probably lives in Detroit. You wouldn't believe the kind of shit that goes down there. Times are hard I guess.
>>
>>28454168
Ah. So half right on both counts. It's a preop transsexual.
>>
>>28454300
>Well, I guess it's better than nothing.
Why? 22mag seems to kill animals ,ok.
I've seen people shoot them selves with nail guns, nails penetrated pretty easily, they weren't too happy about it,that was 60 or 80psi.
>>
>>28454468
I don't doubt the .22lr would kill someone, even with that tiny barrel. Even better chance with the longer barrel, or 22mag to give you better penetration.

But I say "better than nothing" because with it's tiny grip size your time to draw and fire will probably be a little bit slower than a bigger gun, and the very poor (almost non-existant) sights mean you're not going to be taking any carefully aimed shots, which means you more or less have to get rather close to the threat to take it out. Reloading it is also not fast.

So yeah, you're armed if you have one, but if you carry that firearm you'd better be well acquainted with it's limitations as it will inevitably affect your tactics if you had to rely on it to save your life.
