Most of the enlisted guys I know went into the army then got their degree, not the other way round. Have you considered officer school? That may be your best bet if you want a career in the military.

If you're getting a degree don't join the military and ESPECIALLY don't go enlisted. Unless you see some real intangible benefit to both, you're going to regret it.
Also just study metallurgy and manufacturing engineering. Easy major, loads of career potential.
