So I managed to get one of these.
A Saiga 7.62x39.
The way it looks pisses me off, I figured you could just get a different stock and front grip. I found a few, but it's all a bit to tacticool for me. What stocks are available and so forth?

convert your saiga bro.
Getting it up to this would be preferred.

>but it's all a bit to tacticool for me.
Sell your saiga and buy an sks then
use the magpul handguard
or heck even one of them wood ones
>>28406362
put it out of it's misery.

Put the effort in and convert it, it's infinetly better than leaving is as it is.
>>28406974
what lower is that?
>>28407296
It's a Russia saiga in 5.45.
>>28407310
i meant the lower handguard
>>28407319
Oh, my bad. the hand guard is the damage industries ak hand guard
>>28407341
thanks
Do a propper conversion or deal with it as is.
I'm assuming the conversion is to get it from the hunting rifle look to the traditional AK look?
Been googling and researching it, I guess I need to get a conversion kit for it.

yes, you'll need a new trigger, trigger guard, and stock at minimum.
>>28407494
also new grip
>>28407494
im pretty sure you reuse the trigger and can reuse the trigger guard if you were careful when removing the rivets though it looks better if you replace it with ak parts
the stock attachment point is the same as your standard fixed stock
you just need the nut for the pistol grip screw
Oh and turns out you need a bullet guide.
Whats the deal with this? I heard you can do something to not need them, or you need to install a bullet guide.
>>28407621
saigas have their own special mag
the bullet guide is part of the magazine
if you want if to feed from ak mags reliably you need to add the bullet guide to the gun
most of the 5.45 ones dont really need the added guide but the 7.62 ones do

The only parts from the original trigger you keep are the pins and maybe the hammer, but 922r is dumb so you should change it anyway.
You can save the trigger guard but I think it looks awful, up to you.

The mags have the front raised to bump the cartridge up a little during feeding.
A bullet guide is an easy install if you know how to use a drill and tap.
