the slide release on the left side is wider than the one on the right side
the backplate looks EXACTLY like a glock

The glocks and FNS are just practical with no bells and whistles. The VP9 seems like they tried to make it a little flashy, but damn the thing is comfy and the serrations/cocking ears serve a purpose. M&P 9... Seems like they just went "just make something!" Same with the shield, they took the m&p compact and went "just squish it!" without any regard to aesthetics or making bulges/grooves in the right places.
This thing they just put a bunch of fancy lines on for no reason, and it doesn't even look good like the fiveseven or Beretta nano. Honestly a kel tec looks better.

Disclaimer: I love my lc9s (but will never forgive ruger for releasing that abomination lc9 first then forcing everyone to switch). I think the sr9 and 9e are beautiful guns and would own the 9e no doubt if I didn't love my FN so much.
I don't fully understand why it exists.

I don't get why people are interested in this. I already have my glocks so I'm set but I can understand people new to strikers wanting to get the p320 or PPQ for the sweet trigger (and modularity in the case of the p320).
The M&P has been out for a while and has proven to be a decent American glock clone with varying sizes depending on one's need.
