For example, he was able to get any veteran or retiree who had a financial representative (I think that was the term they used, basically a person who cashed their disability check for them) banned from purchasing or owning guns by having them defined as mentally incompetent. He justified that definition by pointing out that "well if they can't manage their own finances then they MUST be too mentally incompetent to own firearms!".
Thankfully it was quickly pointed out that the requirement is for people to be JUDGED as mentally incompetent so now all those people who got banned are un-banned until they are judged.
