You are suddenly dropped into the middle of the battle of Stalingrad. The battle is at it's peak and the fighting in the city is fierce, the Russians cling to the edge of the Volga.
You must survive the battle whilst staying inside the city, until the 6th Army is encircled and destroyed in the open Steppe. Only then can you return home to the present day.
Before you begin your time travel escapade you have three options to choose from which will help you survive...
>Option A: You have a platoon of crack Waffen SS soldiers for your protection, they have been on the Eastern Front since June 22nd 1941 and are experienced in the harsh realities of combat on the Eastern Front. They are equipped with the weaponry of the time period. You are unarmed.
>Option B: You have a squad of modern day British SAS at your disposal, they number 8 men. They have all the training of a modern day special forces unit, but are equipped with appropriate weaponry for the time period. You are unarmed.
>Option C: You go it alone. You are lost in the ruins of Stalingrad with no protection, but there is a catch. You have access to all modern day weapons and personal equipment, M4s, plate carriers, night vision. Are you operator enough to survive?

36 bodies is way better than the 8 you'd get with option B especially when they all have roughly the same equipment. The SAS training may be better, but their tactics are formed around the capability of current gear. Without their modern day tools they'd largely be as effective as anyone else.

A is a good way to get killed. Aside from language barriers, there's a good guarantee that they'll kill me for either being dead weight or suspicion for working with the enemy. With B, I get to work with people that could understand my language and guarantee my survival and escape from the city, I just gotta follow their lead and trust their experience. C is pretty seductive to me, because I would like to introduce some American calibers to the eastern front and have some protection from the ones already being used, but I don't know shit that's in and about Stalingrad, and both sides will kill me for sure with little questioning.
B the SAS dudes are probably going to be a much better bet of getting the fuck out of Stalingrad and over to Turkey or something so we don't get gutted by slav scum or nazi piggus.
