So I want a lever action .357 but I want to know what it would be good for hunting. I'd mainly be hunting in woods in PA so the range on a .357 would be fine for me. So what kind of game can I take with a .357?

Anything up to a small deer, I'd imagine. Don't buy a Mare's Leg. Get a Henry or an old Winchester.

what kind of game can't you take with a .357? .357 is enough to drop a bear

The only .357 load I'd use for anything bigger than yotes would be a hot-ass loading with a hard cast slug. Whitetail at or under 100 yards. If you're careful.

Yeah I hate the look of these things. Just the first picture I found.
OP here, would it be too big for things like groundhogs or rabbits? Squirrels I figure it would probably be too big.

I'd get a .22 for critters. I assume pelts/meat is what youre after?

Fuck off phil

Get a .22 henry lever action, that's going to be better and more enjoyable than any .357 rifle you could want.

In PA you'll be able to use .357 for deer, coyote, fox, groundhog, porcupine,
.357 will take deer. Buffalo bore males some good hunting rounds

I have a .22 but I'm looking for something different. I knew I would be able to take deer, just wondering if I could use it for multi purposes.

.44 magnum rifles are fun. If you want a .357 just buy a revolver.

It CAN hunt deer and such, but it can be very far from humane or consistent to do so. Especially since leverguns aren't known for stellar accuracy so a vitals shot each and every time isn't the likely scenario.
