Prices released for the M249s

Eh, not bad. Could have been worse.
>>
I'm still not quite sure why anyone would want a semi-auto M249.
>>
>>28399993
Factory built belt fed is hard to come by. It's value will only go up

Cheaper than predicted, but still worthless. If and when a bumpfire stock shows up, it might have more purpose, but until then its worse than any of its competitors.

It doesn't have any. Name one factory built semi belt fed on the market
>>
>>28399930
Depends on what barrels they use, but a legit M249 cost our euro army pretty much exactly half of that.
>>
>>28399993
Slide fire stock
>>
>>28399930
It gets us and the company ready if republicans win and repeal the MG ban.

Then boom FNs got full auto m249s at the ready and conversion kits.

Ohio Ordnance m240

Machine gun armory out of Utah.

Ares Shrike.

That's off the top of my head.

nigger I could probably cobble together a functional MG42 for $1,000 illegally

Does the M249 fire from a closed bolt in it's auto configuration? Because if not, it's not even the same fucking gun. Nothing pisses me off more than doing that because it's blatantly fucking unconstitutional.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M249_light_machine_gun

>gas operated, open bolt

it's fucked, I'm certain there are some closed bolt LMG/GPMGs out there that would be better suited to this

What's the unit cost for the M249 anyway?
>>

Around $4k for unit, bells and whistles included.

What kind of groups could you get with it?
>>
They had to completely redesign it fir closed bolt. The receiver , and trigger are completely different from the full auto
>>
>>28400071
None of those are factories faggot. Only a step above a home ran shop
>>
>>28400237
Are you retarded?

Ohio Ordnance and MG Armory do military and LEO contracts as their orimary business, they have a pretty decent sized 'factory' or at least a really big shop.

Please control your fucking autism over semantics, just because you weren't careful with your choice of words.

Dumbass.

At that price I could buy all the funs on my list right now with optics and still have money left over.
>>
>>28400300
Must be shitty optics
>>
>>28400005
Seriously, I doubt this will be on the market for long. Would make a nice investment you can have fun with

>>28400063
>if republicans win and repeal the MG ban
I want you to really think about this one.
>>
>>28399993
well hollis v lynch is going better than even the optimists thought, so i wouldn't be surprised if this is FN biding time before they can give the go-ahead to make them full fun.
>>
>>28399930
who would want a semi auto closed bolt adapted SAW with quick change barrels, what you're going to overheat it on semi auto?
>>
That's nice, but I could get a Barret .50 for pennies more.

Maybe after I win the lotto, FN.
>>
This is being sold as a collector peice so stop fucking sperging about supressive fire.

I'm not big in " investing" in guns, but I agree this one would be good to scoop up and hold for a few years. If you have the means.
>>
>>28400341
Do you think the Supreme Court could strike down the NFA?
>>
>>28400686
Not really, if they turned down the AWB lawsuit too.

Now if they had a couple more conservative judges and additiona federal pro gun laws that partially nullified said NFA or other state level bans, then we'd have a better chance. But it would be on the long run.
>>
>>28400308
Repeal the MG ban lol
>>
So /k/, I am all in on the M249s

I have:
2 M122 tripods that I had refinished
3 "16 inch" saw barrels
1 20" saw barrel
3 saw boxes
6 nut sacks
5k m27 links
1 M249 MGO ACOG
And 4k rounds of 5.56

And $7k in cash to buy the rifle.

The only question I have is, do I sbr it since the 16" (FN includes the flash hider/break, and the barrel extension) barrels, are really under 14" by the ATF definition? Or do I spend about $100/barrel to make them 16"?
>>
>>28400308
That was my first thought, there is a small market for this, they will do one run and be done with it. The full auto market is not one that I am that familiar with, but I was talking to an SOT and he thinks that the M249S will be big for him, he converts semi to full auto and sells them to other SOTs

So it may not be a limited time deal. But the value is much more than an Ohio Ordinance, or a US Machine gun armory copy of the 249.
>>
I do want a 300 whisper barrel for it though. 300 AAC blackout for you youngens
>>
I agree with the people here who say this is a collector's piece. For somebody who collects black guns, this will be a really nice piece to own.

I was on the hunt for a folding stock SPAS 12 and a FS2000 tactical, but I might put those two on hold and pick this up instead because I have a feeling this will be much rarer than either of those two could ever hope to be. Even the SPAS 12, of which only 1850 are in the country.

At the same time, I really need to finish my MG36 and XM8 clones. I think the bottom line is I need more money.
>>
>>28401114
Same situation as you. I currently have 5 projects going on which need an out 10k to finish and I just bought another 5k in guns. I need to stop fucking spending all my money.
>>
So no one answered, so I'll ask again. SBR a $7k rifle, or spend $300 making legal length barrels?
>>
>>28401349
>I currently have 5 projects going on which need an out 10k to finish and I just bought another 5k in guns
You actually do sound just like me.
>need to spend $4k to finish both SL8 conversions
>need to finish building a couple ARs (probably $3k without optics, $5k with optics)
>Just put an AUG on layaway at LGS because whynot.jpg ($2k)
>eyeing a Used with box folding stock SPAS 12 on Gunbroker right now ($2050)
>looking at picking up a lever gun in .357 just because

It's not like I'm in debt or anything, but I really need to stop spending money and build up some accounts.
>>
>>28401388
Follow your dreams
>>
So is that retail, or wholesale?
>>
>>28402229
MSRP. Unlike other guns that usually sell below MSRP, expect to pay the full price.
>>
>>28401036
Why do you need the barrels. You will never get to the point with a semi-auto where you would burn out the barrel. I can understand one barrel of eqch length... But not 3 of the same one.
>>
Make one in 300 blk
>>
>>28402290
Different muzzle devices, perhaps? Preparation for conversion to full auto if the registry ever opens?
>>
>>28402290
$100 each, I couldn't say no.
Complete new in bag gas block muzzle device, front sight, carry handle, barrel extension.
>>
>>28402290
I expect they will be worth more after the gun is released.
>>
>>28399930

Semi auto only weapons that were intended to be full auto just make me want to cry.
>>
I also have a BFA and 200 blanks in a blank box for it. I tend to stock up on accessories, including ones that I will never use.

>>28402281
I was thinking it was going to be $7,999 so under $7k tickles me pink.
>>
>>28402841
Will they do more than one run of these? I get the vibe it'll be a one and done
>>
>>28400071
>name factory

>names only custom shops

good job, stupid
>>
>>28400274
fixing military weapons and making a some custom jobs here and there of other peoples guns isnt the same as having a factory made warrantied semi auto version of somethig no one else has.
>>
>>28404236
If they can keep selling them, they will keep building them.
>>
I haven't seen anything that purports it a limited edition. Just "collectors series".
>>
>>28401433
and here i am saving up to get my DPM parts kit completed, for all around 2k +500 if i wanna go fancy
>>
>>28404390
All that shows is we have different degrees of interest in certain firearms. Most people aren't willing to fork over $2k+ for guns that are mainly collectibles just like how I'm not willing to drop basically any money on my car but others will put $30k into theirs.
>>
>>28400034
DSA RPD goes for about $2100
>>
>>28404586
Dsa is shit. Project weapons sells for like 1600. Or at least it did when I got mine 5 years ago
>>
gotta hand it to FN for at least caring about the civilian market.

looking at you HK.
>>
>not a MK46

why even bother?
>>
>>28404577
Oh believe me most of my money goes towards firearms as it is, i just dont make very much ~12k a year, more or less before taxes
>>
>>28400023
>cheaper

that appears to be the distributors pricing, not the MSRP
>>
>>28404654
>$12k a year after taxes

how can you even afford to eat?

do you live with you parents?
>>
>>28405063
Yes I live in the basement. The 12k comes from my inability to work so the government pays me
>>
>>28404577
Cars are a horrible investment (well for every day driving cars) guns usually aren't a great investment, but the typically don't depreciate to 1/10 of their retail value after a decade, most cars are worth much less than half of retail after 10 years, guns keep their value pretty good.

How the fuck do they make that work? The sear is in the trigger group.

They probably had to totally re-engineer the FCG. Even if the MG registry opens up, this gun will be a true pain in the ass to convert.

For 6800 you could get a kit and a receiver, itd cost you another 2k or more to actually get it built

Dumb question of the day: How would one build up an AR-15 into something analogous? There are belt fed conversions available, and I'm assuming one could scrape up a paddle stock.....

Are you retarded.

They ALL MAKE NEW MANUFACTURED FIREARMS AND RECEIVERS. AKA LIKE A FACTORY.

They aren't custom shit. They aren't working on existing receivers dumbass. WHICH IS WHAT A CUSTOM RIFLE IS.

Just shut up like your friend here: >>28400274
>>
>>28410814

Lel.

You are right about the civie legal mg market though. I've personally been eyeing one of those California legal m249s myself for shits and giggles. 9k is a lot though.
>>
>>28400201
how did they make the receiver different and how many parts would you have to swap out to make it full auto?
>>
>>28411081
Probably have deniel rails in place so it's impossible to put in FA parts without somehow cutting out those. At least that's how my semi rpd and dp28 work along with completely redesigned firing systems
