Perhaps not more /k/, however.

The Iron Giant is gun control propaganda, you fucking heretic

He does take up his BB gun. I catch your drift though. I haven't seen the others. So far Atlantis is reigning.

"Morals" aside, they did draw the army's arsenal pretty accurately for the era. Dem M1s and Chaffes freakin everywhere.

Dunno if a nuclear submarine would launch under those conditions though...
>>
>>28395381
My younger mind didn't catch that, or ignored it. All I could recall was big robots and guns (not from Japan).

>>

How twisted and isolated do you have to be to see this as a fucking gun control story? Iron Giant chooses to be something more than his original, or base designs. He becomes something more, as humans ought to suppress their lesser qualities in favor of more noble ones.
>>
>>28395833

It's not a gun control story.
It's a story where the main characters demonize guns.
>>
>>28395814
>Tin Tin answers the door with a ppk in hand behind his back

Yeah, he's pretty /k/
>>
>>28395833
He betrays his own people to be a hippy friend of a warlike race. He chooses to pick up a flower and put down the proverbial rifle
>>
>>28395947
Good movie, though
>>
>>28395947
If you ask me, the narrative was more about the development of an ostensibly violent creature breaking free of his natural tendencies and making an effort to coexist with others peacefully.

Macross did it better.
>>
The Dirty Motherfucking Dozen
>>
>my dad was oper8ing airplanes in Egypt
>helping send supplies to Somalia

My first /k/ movie was Black Hawk Down when I was like 8. Dad was preddy based.
>>

Macross also had sick robo-tomcats that could fly into space.

>mild sociopath
>hunts
>wants to destroy everything that the girl he likes loves (e.g. her father gets locked up, tries to murder her potential suitor, bullys most people in town)
>>
>>28396240
I mean he's a huge douche to everyone around him, and is the one of the few disney characters given a gun, so I'd say that's pretty fucking /k/
the only downside is that he's far too liked by the towns folk to really be compared to a neck breathing autist, but his lack of empathy and human decency must be noted.
>>
>>28395203
I just realised this is basically an animated version of Stargate.
>>
>>28395833
sounds like hippy gun control propaganda to me.

You know, it actually is possible to have a multi shot, single barreled flint lock. They used to exist (albeit incredibly rarely), and functioned like the Metal Storm concept with bullets and powder lined up in the barrel in succession.

>pic very much related
>>
>>28396349
But gaston' clearly isn't one of those
>>
>>28396349
Yeah, but theres no way in hell Disney is ever going to know that.
>>
>>28396304
It's funny because they made an animated Stargate and it was basically a ripoff of Atlantis.
>>
>>28395255

Just the right thread.

Speaking of that large submarine ship they have which carries 500+ personnel and a bunch of different vehicles and subships, is such a thing possible?
>>
>>28395984
Tell that to niggers and muslims, I don't think they would agree with the story.
>>

Tin Tin is THE young Operator.
>Intelligent, good reflexes, solid instincts
>Good at reading people and anticipating how they will react
>Combat-hardened
>Master of a variety of firearms, including, but not limited to, PPKs, Nuggets, Enfields, and Thompsons
>Accurate enough to bring an aircraft down in a couple shots with a pistol by severing the fuel line while bobbing in the ocean, as well as slamming rounds into the sand berm in front of an opposing marksman multiple times to spray sand in his face for amusement
>Capable in hand-to-hand combat
>Experienced pilot, shown handling even top of the line fighters well
>Has been to fucking space and on the moon
>Friends include a loyal dog of incredible intelligence, royalty, an experienced merchant captain, law enforcement and revolutionaries.

Tin Tin is a legit Operator.

>>
>>28396914
You can't reason with single-issue voters. Everything attacks their precious ideals, then they bitch about everyone being offended and politically correct.
>>
>>28396914
You missed the point of the movie. The point was not that guns are bad hurdur, it was that the Giant, like any other living thing, is not predestined for a single purpose. He is not a simple tool for destruction, but a thinking being. It also had some Cold War overtones about not being afraid of foreign things.
>>
>>28397768
I think you misunderstood what I meant. The movie, I felt, was more of a representation of the cold war tensions at the time and the destructive power that both the US (Millitary in the movie) and Russia (Giant in the movie) had, so i agree with you on that.
>>
>>28397557
Doesn't he literally say "GUNS KILL PEOPLE GUNS ARE BAD YOU ARE NOT A GUN" to calm the giant down?
>>
Not one single mothfucker mentions Red Dawn....shameful.

/k/ is dead.
>>
>>28398158
>Muh Josh Beck
>Muh papa got shot
>>
>>28397959
It is kinda similar to that but it's more like:
"Killing is wrong. Guns kill. You don't have to be a gun. You are who you choose to be."

I see what you mean that "guns don't kill people, people kill people" but in the case of the movie he is talking to a giant sentient gun.

Are there anymore decent western cartoons anymore? Its all just american flash show crap, Disney CGI and French boner fuel.
>>
>>28395361
>US armed forces = antagonist
As was in Atlantis. Hell, even in the Fallout series. /k/ isn't above the US military being shitbags.
>>
>>28398341
That depends, by Flash do you mean animation software? Because if you do you're discounting pretty much all modern animation.

Also your French boner fuel is done in Flash, assuming we're thinking of the same French boner fuel.

Billions of blue blistering barnacles! This brings back many fond memories of being a young chiddler. Hearing my dad wake up at 5:30 to get ready to go and deliver mail. I'd grab a Tin Tin and sit on the toilet reading it while he took a shower. Good times.

Anyone else notice the critics be more and more volatile against movies that aren't total leftist hogwash? Like any movie that portrays guns in a good way, soldiers in a good light, or Christians in a good light, it's automatically "propaganda" or "trash".
