Is this Kevlar? No identifying marks. Even if it was real, is it worth keeping g? Likely over ten years old. Belonged to a now deceased officer.

Another pic. Close up of the material.

Can you check the insides? Otherwise we will never be sure.
Kevlar with time, heavy usage or bad storage will degrade.

Also pics of the rest of his old gear. Not sure what to do with it really. Thinking about getting a booth at the next gun show, but I don't know if it's even worth it. Tons of leather holsters and a old milsurp items.

I'm afraid there is no way of easily identifying kevlar from photos. I can think of some ways to determine it for yourself, but it involves destroying parts of your ?carrier?

Checked insides for tags or any other identifying marks. None. Thought about just shooting it just to satiate my curiosity.

I mean inside the vest.
>>28394175
It definitely has pockets for plates.
>>28394189
I know what you meant. Pulled it inside out to check. Nothing.
>>28394208
Show photo of it. Are there multiple layers?

Yes Kevlar or something similar. Maybe ballistic nylon, but likely Kevlar.
Looks to be level IIA or lower so pistols at a low muzzle velocity.

Also SUUUUUPER OLD SCHOOL maybe 80's era.
Dont fuck it up, it might be worth something to a collector.
>>28394302
Likely. Around the time he retired.
>>28394238
Sort of. About 3-4 thickish layers. Tough to photograph.
well bud unless you have an FTIR somewhere or you're willing to torch the thing, I think you're at a dead end
can't you try and cut it to see how tough it is
kevlar should be very hard to cut, right?
post the rest of his equipment, I might make you an offer if I like soemthing
>>28394147
thats a picture of the nylon plate carrier that covers the kevlar you stupid shithead
>>28394166
not really.
kevlar from the 80s has been shown repeatedly to perform to its original standards.

those are fakish surplus store PR-24 batons.
real PR-24s are either metal or a heavy resin and normally labeled "monadnock"
