Aside from the obvious, OP, that you should get your damn finger off the trigger, you muppet, rather than ID's location maps, etc, just post a photo of it beside the plug for that lamp in the background. Our plugs arent used in any other country.
Now I cant identify the weapon for certain. However, it MIGHT be a Harrington & Richardson with round barrel. The frame shape and pins positions, hammer and trigger guard all match, as does the foresight blade - see pic.
(its not a webley, an enfield, or a Tranter, Holland and Holland, or a Galand. that much I'm sure of. )
Does it have chambers for 9 rounds, each about 5-6mm diameter? (or more exactly, 0.22 inch.) If so, then I'm pretty certain that its a Harrington & Richardson.
My honest opinion, get hold of a set of vernier callipers, and see if its an unusual bore - .475, .577 etc. if it is,you're in luck, its older than I suspect, and UK law does give exemptions for firearms in obsolete calibres for collectors. Without markings, there's no easy way to check the cartridge it was designed for without a vernier calliper.
My suspicion is, however, that its .22, circa 1950, in which case, I'm afraid its rather illegal.
I would suggest that you simply contact the fuzz, tell them you believe you've found a revolver that's not in an obsolete calibre, and you'd like verification that it is illegal and if so you'd like to hand it over. You're never going to use it, if you did, you'd be utterly fucked by the law, possession is a 5 year minimum sentencing under the Section 51A Firearms Act 1968, 2003 amendment. Its not worth that.
