>look guise so light weight
>wow so thin cool guys you can shoot real fahst
>alright we're gonna torture test it
>taps it lightly against wood beam. Completely fucking deforms it
>uh.. yeah it's still good. is greaht rail guise

>meanwhile DD rail gets shot with buckshot and survives.
>this is why you only see DD rails, and KAC rails in serious use if they know what their doing

tl;dr : KMR is a fragile piece of shit.

It's like they think AR tripfags dont use their guns for anything at all.
>>
>>28378389
Hint trip fags don't fire their AR's. They just take pictures of them.
>>
How much more does the new aluminum one weigh?
>>
>>28378375

Some people actually carry their rifles all day, so weight is a consideration. if weight isn't a consideration and durability is everything? Why not just use a solid aluminum or steel tube as the handguard?
>>
>>28378375
gimme da vid niggu
>>
>>28378629

If you carry your rifle all day you use it. You would never sacrifice that much durability for weight. Believe me.

pretty sure any lightweight rail will do that.
save maybe the slim rail.
>>
>>28378629
>what is reasonable compromise

'course what do I know I just use a2 style handguards and one of those fsb mounted rails the Canadians use.
>>
>>28379092
the DD slim rail? I'd be interested to see how it holds up.

and sticking with a modular rail.
CC needs to actually get with the times fully.
that and figure out what operators actually wear if they want to seem cool.
>>28379109
I'd assume its like their lite rails, I'm gunna pick up a 15 and chop it down I think
>>
>>28379130
Not surprised.

For a modern military that requires people to attach lights, lasers, nv, thermal, bipods, forgrips, fleshlights, etc a large rail interface makes all kinds of sense.

I'm just a dude who wants a flashlight on his gun.
>>
>>28379077
Holy cow, that video.
"I wonder if this hand guard can take being hit against this post?"
>Briefly flashes the side he hit it on
>its mangled to fuck
"It werks gud!"
>>
>>28378375
So your photo demonstrates that the gun will still work if the rail is bent. If it still works who the fuck cares if it gets bent?
>>
>>28379190
If you've got a laser and sights on your handguard and your handguard gets bent your laser and sights lose zero.

Sounds kinda bad to me desu senpai
>>
>>28379190
Rail doesn't work if it's bent as in you can't put shit on there anymore

All ARs are fragile, OP. The question is if you are decent enough to your tools to use it. If you can't avoid bashing your AR against things or can't manage to oil your gun every few hundred rounds you really shouldn't be using a rifle.

What is combat for $400
>>
>>28380764
Real operators don't fuck up their rifles, which is why they get ARs. Retards and goatfuckers use AKs and Mosins for a reason, and not because they're good

AR Field Repair Kits are a real thing.
AK Field Repair Kits are not.
>>
>>28380778
>don't fuck up their rifles
>they don't get blown up and have their rifle slammed into something
>they don't jump off shit to avoid getting shot and have to choose between dropping their rifle to brace themselves or break their wrist
>in combat your rifle will never get hit by anything like bullets or flying rocks from explosions
>in the middle of a firefight you totally have time to whip out some lube and field strip your rifle, nobody on your team will get pissed at a gun being out of the fight and you definitely won't die for being retarded
>>
>>28380881
That's because you need an armorer to change anything on an AK.

On a traditional M4 with a plastic handguard, it doesn't matter. The only thing that the handguard has to do in that scenario is provide a comfy grip surface and block barrel heat from your hand.

However, a freefloat handguard does those things, plus giving you an attachment point for aiming devices, lights, slings, and even your front sight. If the floating rail tube can be easily bent, it could throw off your front iron sight, laser/IR pointing device, flashlight, etc.

Having one of these handguards is fine if you're building a range queen or 3gun racer, but it's not meant to stand up to abuse. That's not a huge problem if that isn't what you need out of your rail, but BCM is selling it that way, so you can be a reel leet oper8or.

Their marketing needs work.

When has BCM put out a bad product?

The top and bottoms are reinforced so they won't bend. This is most common place to put a IR Laser so no problems. Fuck off.
