I've always wanted a black powder revolver, and just learned I can get a cartridge converter for it and shipped to my house in L.A! Anyone have experience with it? Pic is what I'm going to buy for the sweet price of $300, with cartridge converter $200.

if you want a blackpowder keep it as bp
conversion kits are amazingly annoying
your paying 200 bucks to only shoot only cowboy loads and still be a pain in the ass to reload compared any other revolver
if you arent a a felon you could buy a good revolver with 500
if you are a felon why the hell is your dumbass spending 500 on a 6shot singleaction revolver that cant be reloaded in a timely manner when you could build an ar off an 80% with 500 bucks or just buy something illegaly

They didn't have any steel frames with a short barrel in stock

I own one of the 1858 Remingtons. They're cool guns but just know that they are heavier than shit and enormous, and reloading is a bitch.

>reloading
>not carrying a brace of pistols
Good choice. We Pale Rider now.

Huh? Reloading is much easier than the Colts. It is so easy to remove the cylinder. All you need is a tool like pic related and load the cylinder outside the gun. Hell, have two or three cylinders loaded already and just swap them out.

Well, they're still just as good at killing people as they were in the 1800s.

The Remington 1858 is arguably the best bp of its era. Good choice. If you don't mind spending more money, Pedersoli makes an amazing Remington pattern that's specifically for precision target shooting.
Why get a cartridge conversion, though? You can make your own powder, cast your own lead balls, etc. If you're gonna play in it, might as well do it like it was meant to.
You will get similar performance in ballistics gel to regular modern 9mm.
Have you looked at other period revolvers? The LeMat is a thing of beauty- 9 shot cylinder with a single shot muzzle loading shotgun...
To this day, the Colt Walker is the most powerful pistol ever issued to the American Army. Kaido Ojamma makes specialty bullets for them and modifies Walkers into "Boar Busters" for hunting.
The Ruger Old Army is the strongest and most powerful modern percussion revolver ever built, it was test fired with Bullseye powder if the stories are true.

The brass frame is classy as fuck.
