you need to change your gun and get something more modern then. 1911 handguns are nice but there's also a time where you have to sit and decide if 7/8 rounds in a full sized handgun that maybe feeds HP is smart when the market offers smaller/lighter or higher capacity full sized handguns that will feed hollow points.
Not bashing 1911s, but their prime has passed as a carry gun. They most certainly have a place in modern collections, just not in a holster for every day carry.

Keep the 1911, but use something else in its place. Glock makes a fantastic .45 caliber handgun that has a higher capacity and will reliably feed hollow points. Its an ugly gun, it may not feel like heaven in your hands but chances are when the police come by and collect the corpse in your house/business they will also take your firearm as evidence where it will sit in a locker for an unknown amount of time. In this case, who cares. Its a mass produced gun that got you through your trouble and no one is going to cry if the police all of a sudden decide to keep it. Guns are tools They just need to work, once you have your work horse established then you can start collecting nice things.

I got a box of their ball ammo and had my first experience with a squib load. I don't trust the stuff now, especially since it costs so much more than other offerings yet has problems the competition doesn't.
