Not OP, but I'm probably buying one ASAP. Should I get .45 or 9?
I wanted a full size 9 but if I get it in .45 that's cool too
>>

if you get a usp always get the .45 getting a 9mm usp is like getting a scar in 5.56 or a 1911 in 22lr
>>
>>28342850
USP is a dated design. More modern HK pistols have a richer feature set.

That said I plan on getting a Mk23, and splinter cell bores me. The internals on that pistol are more like small rifle parts than pistol parts.
>>
>>28344514
nope.

I like the aesthetic but never much liked them shooting.

I have a mark23 that I like though so if get the usp in .45. Seems like overkill in 9milli

You'd really have to fingerfuck both of them to make an informed decision. Aggressive vs less aggressive but with interchangeable backstrap, you know? Other than feel, the main difference is a slightly improved accessory rail on the P2000.

And for fun factor, the P2000 is used in CS:GO, while the USP-C is used by Jack Bauer and CIA in TDKR.
>>
>>28344802
USP is also in CS:GO now.
>>
>>28342850
Over-priced for what it is. A lot of other systems are better than it currently. Sig 226 with a SRT is better in 9 mm. Finger fuck one and you'll see that they're not that amazing for what they're charging.

Also, I know you nigs like it because SOLID SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE had one, but seriously can we let the HK thing die already?

Also, the VP9 is shit.

'Nigs' wouldn't be able to afford it let alone identify it. I think you mean weebs
>VP9
Oh the most casual entry on the H&K product line? Of course it is. Go hammer-fired or go home
>>
>>28345159

Right, striker-just sucks... lmfao Just stop.

> Oh the most casual entry on the H&K product line? Of course it is.

And that makes it acceptable, why? So, I guess if it's not over 800 USD HK don't give a shit if it works. Again, this HK craze on /k/ needs to die.
>>
>>28345219
There is no "HK craze". There's just a number of people who like HK just like there's a number or people who like Beretta or SW or any other manufacturer. You're just being a contrarian faggot.

As for the MAC test, that's literally one fucking video and it is the cheapest HK product. There's other videos where the vp9 functions after being submerged in muddy/sandy water. Again, no fucks given, the vp9 is awesome to shoot.

And for the record, Snake uses the Mark23
>>
>>28345219
Got a new G26 for 500. Got a new P30SK for ~50 bucks more. You'll never get your money's worth buying at MSRP bud, and H&K's rep extends much further than /k/

The hammer-fired comment was referring to appropriate choices from HK specifically. In the grand scheme of things hammer vs striker is inconsequential
>>
>>28345338

Nigger, what makes it acceptable that "cheap" can excuse it for not functioning? I take it you own a VP9.

>>28345342

Glad you could clarify. You sound less retarded.
>>
>>28345429
Right because that was the only thing I said.

For every fanclub on /k/ there's a retarded anti-fanclub that makes it's life mission to go on every relevant thread and shitpost.
>>
If you want a 9mm, get a P30 in the flavor of your choice. The USP is really, REALLY meant for .45. They are a fantastic handgun and will suffer through pretty much anything you can do to it. You really can't go wrong with a USP .45. The only real downsides are magazines can be a tad pricey and the proprietary rail.

That said, another great full sized .45 is the FNX Tactical. This will, however, set you back a bit more than the USP.
>>
The only reason why I would like a usp is because of its presence in tv shows, games and movies.

Every bad guy or generic soldier or cop uses a beretta, glock, etc. The operators use a usp or mk23.

Can someone explain why hk doesn't just update product lines instead of creating whole new pistol series? Look at glock and their generations. The usp and usp compact could have gone through generational updates to include larger mag release and better ergonomics as seen in the p30. They could have introduced a uspsk so there would have been a full size, compact and sub compact handgun.

Get it in .40 that's what it was designed around. Plus they are more common in .40 and cheaper.
>>
I've owned one in .45 and I currently own one in 9mm. Both full size.
I sold the .45 mostly because I shoot my 1911's more and I really like shooting 9mm in general. The 9mm full size with the match trigger kit (I left the original blue hammer spring in though) is a dream to shoot. I also own a 226 in 9mm and while it is a nice gun, the USP is better all around (except maybe ergonomics, but I prefer the USP because I have big hands). Also the sig is more expensive.
>>
>>28346484

Have a 26 for carry. Nothing wrong with it brah
>>
>>28346785
I guess its worth mentioning that my Sig has the short reset trigger installed, and it does have a better double action than the HK, the single action is about the same, the Sig has a shorter reset as well. Neither has a trigger that is even close to a good 1911 or single action Sig, obviously...
Take down for both is pretty much the same, the biggest problem I have with the HK is removing the slide stop, the biggest problem I have with sig is the uncaptured recoil spring. The finish on the HK is stronger for certain, but it doesn't look as nice as the Sig.
>>
>>28342850

I'm about to get my first gun, mostly for home self-defense/CCW in a car or under a heavy jacket, and really want a full-size 45. The USP seems like the perfect choice for me, and after holding a model that was 8+1 I am in love.

My only question is, on the website it says that they have 12 round mags, not 8. Is the handle thicker or bigger to compensate for that? The one I held was literally perfect for my handsize.
>>
>>28349691
No, the 8 round mags have a block built in. The gun is the exact same.
>>
>>28349722

Thanks. Must be a cali thing, I'll look into getting some ten round mags. The paddle release is a bit funky, do you get used to it? And what's a good flashlight to go on the bottom?

>>
>>28349751
It took me a while to get used to the paddle release, but when you do its so nice. I use my trigger finger to depress it.
For a flashlight I like the Surefire X300 (the ultra is nice too, but perhaps too high power for inside, especially if you have stainless steel appliances). You will need a rail adaptor, surefire makes one for $35, and GG&G also makes one for a bit more. The streamlights are ok too, and they also make mounts one specifically for the USP, no need for a rail adaptor.
>>

>>
>>28350857
Couldn't say much for the MK.23. Never even seen one in person. The USP, I've finger fucked at my LGS. Operation was smooth and the gun fit well in my hand and that's about it.

Neither would make good CCW's but a USP compact might fit the bill as I said here >>28350191
>>
Robust pistol that has both the durability and ergonomics of an actual tank. Mediocre trigger. Paid 550 for a USP9 in good condition. Wasn't disappointed. Worth it at that price as long as you're realistic about the design, ergos and trigger.
>>
>>28350863
Don't know how much they typically go for used, but I saw a couple in great shape that were only about 600-650ish bucks granted the shop was due to close at the end of the year and they were trying to close out their inventory.
>>
>>28346895
>>28350724

I fucking adore the MK23 and often have it either nearby or on my person, but lets be honest here, it's a bit of a niche gun even if you're okay with the price. Durable and accurate as fuck, but not really quite as appropriate for most people as a sidearm or civilian carry gun, which handguns are usually supposed to be. It kind of shines more during the small amount of times as an "offensive weapon system" where you have a rifle but would rather use the handgun for whatever reason, be it suppressed noise, shooting in an unusual position that would make a handgun more ideal, et cetera.

For typical purposes a USP in .45 ACP would probably be more suitable, though if you're an unusually tall and muscular person it might make the disadvantages of the MK23 less impactful.
