As long as you're hunting Germans, it will do its job.

A stock mosin is just fine for hunting.

What you're really gonna need to worry about is the ammunition.

I would suggest checking your local hunting laws first. There are many places that don't allow FMJ rounds for hunting. And most nugget food is FMJ.

If this law applies to you, you're gonna need to acquire 7.62x54R soft point rounds.

As long as your mosin isn't fucked up beyond recognition and is decently accurate, then its fine. Do yourself as favor and practice shooting at 100 yards since this is the range in which most people shoot deers at. Learn to stalk and aim and you will be fine. Bring binoculars hunting also. And as other Anons already mentioned, make sure the ammo you are using is legal to hunt with.
