I own a business which purchases gold and diamonds and recently have been purchasing from a retired marine. This gentleman did 12 years in the corp, and asked if I was interested in buying some firearms. I explained I cannot buy them with or at the business but may be interested in the personally. Anyway, long story short he's got a Dragunov, and a Singer 1911. I don't yet know for sure is it is a Chinese made Dragunov or Russian, but it is a Dragunov as he showed me a picture of it and it definitely has the 1 piece for grip (not psl). How much does a Russian Dragunov go for in the U.S.? I've seen the Chinese variant for sale for around 5k but can't find a Russian anywhere and have to come up with an offer above 350. Any advice /k?
>>28327093
Russian-made commonly go for $10,000 and if I were selling one, I wouldn't sell it for any lower.
i dont want to be a dickhead/faggot/insult anyones intellagence but make sure its legit and not a psl
Only ndm86 ive seen went for 6500
Legit Dragunov's and sometimes Tigr's go for quite a bit. I think I've seen prices from 9-12k for them when they pop up, which isn't often.
>>28327221
This OP, be sure this is the genuine article before you accidentally buy the world's most expensive PSL.
>>28327093
>Russian Tiger carbine
3,500$-$4,000
>Chinese NDM-86 in .308 or 7.62x54r
5,000$-6,500$
>Chinese NDM in the rare velvet case and all the goodies
8,000$-9,000$
>Russian made SVD that isn't a cuck import version
upwards of 10k$
there you go OP, get an SVD, they are sex.
>>28327093
>singer 1911
There are more singer 1911 forgeries in the world than legit singer 1911s. Singers dont get sold in lgs or private sales. They are auctioned, by James Julia or Sotheby and bids go into 6 digits.
>The Singer pistols represent the highest production values of all of the WWII M1911A1 pistols. Serial numbers for the pistols are S800001-S800500. An unknown number of pistols were produced for Singer employees. These were not given serial numbers or inspector marks.
One unlucky sap's singer story:
If your guy has a legit one, he sure as shit isn't going to sell it to you.
If someone comes to you, an private seller, an unknown entity, to move a $65,000-$100,000 firearm, one of three things is going on:
1. It is a fake;
2. It is stolen;
3. He is ignorant.
If he knows enough that the "S Mfg" stamped on his pistol means "Singer Sewing Machine Co." and its relevant enough to mention, my guess is 1 or 2.
At the VERY LEAST offer him 500 dollars more than he's asking to have it appraised by a 1911 expert.
Or gr8 b8 m8, 8/8

>cuck import
Not OP but I'm curious as to what you mean by this. Far as I knew SVDs are expensive because we only got a few in before the import bans slammed down and cut off the flow.
>>28328214
Interdesting
>>28328249
He means legitimate military issue SVDs, like the very few Vietnam bring back ones and the rare military variants imported in. The commercial ones were made to lower standards in the later years
>>28328981
Ah, okay. I tried googling to figure out what he meant but my search-fu failed me.
Is a PSL or Tiger worth it my friends?
>>28329007
Ask for photos of it, as many photos of it as possible.
it's not an SVD op, it's a romanian PSL
>>28329007
PSLs run about $1,300
Tigrs run closer to $6,000
PSLs were sold, about 5 years ago, for around $800
Tigrs were sold, about 5 years ago, for around $3,000
Is an SVD worth more than a SCAR-17S? Only for the hipster factor.
>>28329028
Not OP. It seems he abandoned the thread to me. I'm just curious as to what /k/ thinks.
PSL's are about $1,300 USD which is cheaper than the Tigers but I was wondering which would be the better value when using cheap ass surplus 54R. As in, quality, out of box accuracy, etc.
>>28329100
If you're shooting cheap surplus, go with the PSL.
>>28329074
Hipster factor? Sounds more like a rarity thing to me.
>>28329074
>hipster factor
Nogunz detected. SVDs are desired because of their service history and also their high degree of manufacturing precision, lock up, and accuracy. Unlike a PSL, an SVD is a completely different design meant to be inherently more accurate. Sub-MOA is very easy to reach. Groups as low as .3 MOA have been confirmed.
I'd like to see a SCAR 17S get even .5 MOA reliably out of a 16.25" 1:12" barrel.

This
>>28329074
>Is an SVD worth more than a SCAR?
Yes it is you tacticool oper8tor faggot, not all guns have to be operator worthy. SVD's are worth way more than any shitty SCAR since they are rare and the history behind them.
>>28328249
By cuck import I mean not a converted tiger carbine, or just normal tiger carbine.
>12 years in the corp
>retired
>>28333272
O.P. is long gone.
Either was bait, or the Jarheads gold and diamonds turned out to be fake, too.
>>28331255
>tfw there's a sporterized Russian SVD on gun broker.
>>28333429
>see this
>check
>there isn't
Well, I'm glad you were full of shit at least.
By the way op, noone mentioned this yet, but for Russian SVDs if its a KBI import it'll be 10k or so, but if its a military capture expect 15-20k.
>>28330493
I like the SVD as well, but you are going to be sorely disappointed if you ever get your hands on one and expect that level of accuracy
>>28333272
Honorable med discharges get you retired status
I "retired" from the Corps at a little over 2 years

Hipster rifle confirmed

>Groups as low as .3 MOA have been confirmed.
From a person who actually owns an SVD: you're delirious.
~1 MOA groups are possible with a combination of good ammo and a well preserved rifle. Shaving another tenth or two off that is possible if you handload.
But .3 MOA is straight out delirious.
>>28334087
Flandre got 0,31 with his (American import) TIGR, though I'm guessing it was a fluke.
My surplus SVD shoots around 1MOA with a good batch of surplus ammo. The first three shots are always in a really tight group, usually 1 or better, but as tge gun gets hot the groups open up a bit. With good handloads 0,6 is doable, but that is chill, supported shooting from the bench.
Using good surplus ammo and a bipod giver you 1MOA which is enough.
>>28334303
Pic related, three shots from 170 yards. Surplus ammunition.
>>28334318
Here's how it starts opening up when you shoot more than 3-4 quick shots. The first four are a nice little bundle but then it opens up.
170 yards. Surplus ammo.
>>28334303
>Flandre got 0,31 with his (American import) TIGR
Let me guess, with a single 3rd group.
>>28334318
>>28334329
Yeah, shit gets hot and accuracy degrades real fast.
But with the 4x it's super fun to just blast steel with silvertips at various ranges until she's smoking.
Do all SVDs imported come with out a flash hider and this hideous stock?
>>28330493
>omg it shot this one group at .3 MOA
>accuracy confirmed!
>>28334382
Yeah, I think it was a 3-shot group.
I just found a really nice batch of non-silver tipped surplus ammo that gives me 1MOA or better. I have a 6x24 POSP, but finding this nice surplus and the ever growing need for a reloading press makes me want to buy a 10x optic and a properly centered, STURDY mount.
>>28327093
Singer 1911s are the most rare out of any other WW2 manufacturers.
