Haven't seen one of these for awhile. Post your kits for rating, ask questions, recommend items.

Get a better bag, get a mess kit, and a zippo lighter with fuel.
>>
How about "survival rifles"? I have a few things stuffed into the stock of my 702 Mossberg.

I still want to know what that single strip of webbing is on my Molle II salt pack. If anybody knows.

There is nothing "survival" about any rifle. You have to choose between small, large, and varmit calibers as well a making each and every shot count.

Shot guns on the other hand are much better. Cheap to buy, easy to reload, and not to mention the many loads you could do while innawoods. You can take anything from bears to squirrel on with a 12 gauge.

>mess kit
>firestarting materials and tools
>fishing equipment if possible in your area
>sleeping bag
>3-4 days worth of food
>1-1.5 week worth of water
>tent or tarp
>a few trashbags and plastic grcoery sacs
>clothes
Obviously more stuff but that's the very basic
>>
>>28326500
its a single strip webbing? I don't think there's any super secret use for it that only tier 1 oper8rs know
>>
>>28326533
ZIppo lighters are shit. Other than the fact that once you get it to light, the wind won't blow it out, they're worthless. Guaranteed to be bone dry when you really need it. Buy a dozen BIC disposables and you'll be better off.
>>
>>28326643
I just plain can't figure out what it might be for. Even grenade pouches have two strips of webbing. I love that pack to death, but that one little thing bugs me. Only when I discover what weird proprietary Army thing goes on there will my nitpickyness be sated.
>>
>>28326689
If it's made with soft Velcro material, then it's literally just for patches, or maybe to place some pens or clip a flashlight for storage
>>
>>28326325
There is no way I would chose something as mechanically complex as a lever gun for a bug-out situation. Single shot break action rifle or a pump shotgun.

Extended range kit, drop me somewhere and instead of dying in three days instead i die in seven or ten if i'm lucky. Maybe.

Any tips for beginners on what to pack?
>>

Nyet. Negative. Nein. No. Don't do that. Carry multiple bics and a ferro rod. A zippo is snazzy and I carry one daily but it's fluid will evaporate.

Toilet paper. Lots and lots of toilet paper. And a trowel for digging shitters. People always forget about that.

Opps had on auto, basically assemble BOB with basics of food, water, tools for water and food(messkit, canteen, pot to boil, water filtration), axe, knife, gun, ammo, sleeping(sleeping bag, either tent or tarp or both, sleeping mat), rope(550). Garbage bags and smaller bags are usually pretty good, also I tend to always use some electrical tape. Essentially from these basic things you will find what is nesscessary and what is dead weight and adjust accordingly to your needs. Clothes are always important as well as hygiene supplies.
>>
>>28327358
Rather than getting some shitty net hammock and throwing a tarp over it to keep the rain off, get a Hennessy Hammock. Shit is GOAT. You don't have to worry about rolling out and big dudes will fit in them too. I'm 6' 3" and I fit just fine.

http://hennessyhammock.com/

Also as a side note, you can get paracord nowadays that has a flammable string in it. Supposed to make it even easier to start a fire without sacrificing your rope. Otherwise these three pics are good advice and I use many similar things for my camping gear/bob.
>>
Jesus Christ /k/ can be so Fudd at times
>hurr durr I packed 6 knives and no water purification system
>>

True, though you should have multiple knives. Some sort of sturdy machete and something good for dressing animals at minimum.

>Axe, machete, shovel,multi-tool, AND a Kabar.
Pick one of those, not all of them. Jesus.

>One BIC lighter
Take two.

>Eight cliff bars
You're not on a life raft. Bring some variety. Low food variety/quality = low morale

>Flashlight and no headlamp
Get a headlamp.

>One pair of socks
You died.

>Zippo
You died.

>Light sleeping bag and no liner or shelter half/tarp
You died.

>Walkie talkies

>Medium bag
Eh, at least you have a bag.

>Two water bottles
They look metal which is good, though those caps are probably plastic which is kinda meh.

>Water filter
Always good to have, wouldn't have expected to see that in this given the tacticool look of the whole kit

>Fire starter
Also good.

>Compass
Good, though I would worry about quality.

>Emergency blanket
Always useful.

>First aid kit
Absolutely essential, though it probably has some unnecessary shit like most kits that get sold.

>3 food pouches
Food is good, can't speak to the quality as I have never tried that brand. I pack my own generally.

>Solar Radio/flashlight
Looks to be solar only which is dumb but at least you have a radio and flashlight.

>Paracord
One of the most useful things ever, though you can get the kind with a fire starting string in them.

>Tee-shirt
Obvious shilling is obvious

>Hammock
Hammocks are nice but the one they give you is shit tier. Hennessy Hammocks are GOAT.

>Survival knife
Questionable quality. No full tang which sucks but it does have some useful shit in it. I'd be worried they used shit tier metal for the knife.

>hat
Eh, it's good to have a hat. Full brim is better though.

>e-tool
Hey man, gotta dig a slit trench somehow.

>tacticool hatchet
Fucking disgusting. Looks cool and that is the only purpose it serves.

It could be much worse. It looks like an okay starter kit for someone who will probably just use it while camping to impress their fag friends. Expect to see similar at the next nugget fest.

Nose candy?

Mystery Ranch Three Day and whatever tactical shit I find lying around my room.

I don't have a bug out bag ready to go or anything like that, I will generally always have time to prepare something like that

I am also broke and there's no way I can save food long enough.

I have a backpack like that for daily stuff...

100% garbage. Removable straps fall off all the time, and the material is weak...almost ripped a strap off entirely falling over a fence once.

I'm pretty sure everything in that bag is ching-chong chinaman tier garbage if the bag itself is reflective of the overall kit.

What's the matter with Schrade multitools?
>>
>>28327187
How mich detail do you want?

The first thing to do is figure out where you're bugging out to. Then you configure your bag to get you there. Keep in mind that bugging in is a much better option, but sometimes that option isn't available.

Broadly speaking, a BOB is intended to keep you fed, hydrated, sheltered, safe, and patched up for up to 3 days travel by foot in adverse conditions.

For food, load high calorie stuff with long shelf life. Peanut butter, honey, tuna or sardines in oil, rice or cous-cous, cooking oil, dehydrated foods, and the like. Bouillion cubes. If you do MREs, strip them down. A double handful of hard candy. Also have a basic messkit so you can do rudimentary food prep and cooking. And a tin mug.

Water- you need to be able to collect it, filter it, purify it, and store it. You want to be able to carry at least 3 liters, in 2 or 3 containers so one leak doesn't kill you. One container should be single wall stainless steel so you can boil water.

Fire- at least 3 ways to make it. Matches, Bic disposable, mag block with ferro rod, and a magnifying glass which can go with your med gear. It also doesn't hurt to pack some camping candles and a can of Sterno.

A tent or a tarp, depending on what extremes of weather you could get. Plus a half dozen contractor grade trash bags. Those things are amazingly versatile. Sleeping bag, or blanket, or camping quilt. Spare clothes as your conditions may dictate, including a minimum of 4 sets of socks and 2 pairs of underwear.

Flashlight and headlamp, preferably that share a battery size. Rechargeable batteries in that size and a solar charger. Add an adapter so you can charge your phone, which you will load with a bunch of apps that you can use even with no bars. Map apps and the like. And porn. Duct tape, paracord, twine, wire, multitool, folding knife, fixed blade knife, machete or hatchet (Estwing roofing hatchet is best) and I'm running out of room. There's more, if you're interested.

Mostly silly elitism. I've had a couple gerbers that worked just fine. I've also had leathermans. I do like the leathermans better though. Just a nicer design IMO. Never bothered with schrade tbhfam
>>

This poster isn't full of shit.
>>
>>28329246
Schrade isn't good price for quality. They have some cool looking blades but you'll be paying for the looks. Their knives are ok, made with mediocre metal not appropriate for the price.
>>
>>28329435
Oh okay then. Dad got me one for Christmas so I was just wondering.
>>
>>28329453
It's not bad, it'll work, just a little pricier than they're worth. My friend got one of these. Looks fucking cool in person, the color changes as you move it.

I got a red puma bag, a swiss army knife, and this half eaten burger in the fridge.
