Well if the actual apartment doors are flimsy I'd suggest you talk to your property manager/landlord into changing the lock as other people here suggested, it'd make people who want to break into your apartment resort to kicking the door down vs someone picking the cheap lock.

Do you know if you have other doors like to a closet? If so I'd pop the cheap door to the closet off and replace em with a steel door with a lock and give a key to the property manager/landlord and not tell them about the door replacement. If they do a inspection they need to give a notice ahead of time, so that will give you enough time to swap out the doors. Since safes are out the question for at this time I'd suggest you buy a cheap gun cabinet and bolt it down in the closet, it's really not that hard and easy to patch the holes. I did it all the time when I moved apartments.

Another suggestion is to buy a motion alarm with a remote and set it up near the apartment door. A friend of mine has one and it's loud as fuck he always enables the alarm whenever he leaves his apartment.

Used to live in a real shit area of Michigan, wasn't as populated. Only had one break-in and, per usual, it's when I wasn't home. They nabbed a console, that's it. But, that's the thing - I bet a place by Seattle would have more people. So, results may vary.

Sounds like you've got a fair amount of guns. The best bet you've got is cutting back even more than you already have on what you bring at first, and keeping the rest secure in Arizona. Like, I don't know... your CCW, and a shotgun. Hoodrats can't steal what they can't access. Then just lock up your shotgun (or long gun) since you could pull that off, and even hide it afterwards so it's more inconspicuous. Then, just carry the handgun on you whenever possible and keep it within reaching distance whenever you're at home. It'd be enough to hold you over for personal protection for a temporary timeframe. Your main concern down the road should be getting into a nice neighborhood eventually (which, I'm sure it is) because that'll obviously be the main security factor for your home/belongings.

If that's not an option though, and you really want more firearms, just get creative. Could do some cliche Hollywood shit and keep a "hidden" safe or lockup of some sort. Underneath a mattress, behind a fake wall in a closet. I've seen the metal drawer at the base an oven (like ones sometimes attached to them) made to lock and used as a safe. Dead serious. Because someone going for a quick in and out for valuable shit doesn't care about your pots and pans, of course.
