Just get a S&W 5906.

Awesome. Probably one of the greatest handguns in production

Great gun.

really want one but local dealer got back to be after black friday sales with his ffl.
>>
>>28306596
Interesting in the triple action and well fitted but outside of Black Friday sales overpriced for what it is.
>>
Mediocre pistol that doesn't do anything better than others and relies on a gimmick to sell.

Also a literal direct copy of a Daweoo pistol.
>>
>>28310026

did they ever market it as anything but?

it's a nice little pistol. It's absolutely overpriced, but judged on merits and not price, it's hard to dislike.
>>
No one in this thread has shot one.
Here's the deal
>decock by pushing the hammer forward - neat I guess
>double action trigger is mediocre
>single action is very short, crisp
>lockup is tight, shoots smooth
>stock grip feels cheap, sights aughta be upgraded, controls don't feel quite right, subjectively low quality finish
>price point is about where expected
7/10 would call the day after and ask out for lunch.

The only negative shit I have read or heard was from faggots who hate on the idea of a firearm made outside of the U.S. or from people who haven't even handled and shot one.

No.

LGS has them for $400. What do you think it's worth?

No, really.
Go ahead and post one for $400 and I'll buy it right now.

I had a low serial compact model before they added the Novak cuts in the slide. It was an ok gun, accurate enough, fit well, comfortable to shoot, but overpriced for what it was. I sold it for more than I had into it and bought a USPc
>>
>>28306596
I have a regular ol' DP-51 and they're fun guns. The lionheart whatever isn't really worth it though unless you don't like the stock sights and grip panels. Honestly though I'd buy a Lionheart for the fun of it though just to have a special snowflake gun.
>>
>>28310492
Online I'm seeing $600+, which still isn't terrible. $760 for their "upgraded" one? That's fucking dumb.
>>
>>28310515
tl;dr you're full of shit.
>>
>>28310512
Their black friday sale is when the guns are priced "about" where they should be.
>>
>>28310331
>decock by pushing the hammer forward - neat I guess
But it's not a decocker. The hammer spring is still depressed, essentially in single action mode but with a long trigger pull to raise the hammer with a light pull.

They're still pretty alright guns though. They're worth what people are willing to pay for them.

I like it, I like it so much I replaced my Sig P229 for it as my EDC. Double action trigger is meh if you could get it in double action mode without manually dropping the hammer with a live round in the chamber. The double action plus (or whatever they call it) prevents double action. So it's basically in single action for the most part which I like. The single action trigger is pretty damn good. Accuracy wise it's good in capable hands. It's pretty damn reliable I've gotten close to 2.4k various rounds through it, eats everything I throw at it. Only malfunctions I've seen through it was ammo related Tula/Brown Bear FTF and FTE 4 times with Tula 9 times with Brown Bear. The fit and finish is holding up after 2 years of holster abuse and edcing on a motorcycle in various weather. There only thing I really don't like about the LH9 is the safety sure it's easy to sweep off with your thumb, but trying to re-engage the safety with your thumb is annoying as hell. To be honest I would recommend people to pick it up during the Black Friday Sale and not purchase it at full price. It's just another gun with a unique feature, but I like it.
>>

1. yet another double-stack 9mm that offers absolutely nothing new
2. stupidly expensive

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. I've only put around 500 rounds through it since then so these are my first impressions.

The fit and finish and tolerances on this gun are excellent. It is extremely well constructed and has a very good level of polish. It feels very solid and there is no rattle or wobble anywhere. The grip texture is a little sharp, but other than that the ergos are good. It's around the same size as a g19 (from what I remember as I sold my g19 a few months ago) but feels better in the hand. It is a gun that I am able to shoot very well naturally. It took me no time to get the same size groups as I do with my other handguns. The trigger is a little heavy in both DA/SA but in single action it is extremely crisp and has a very nice break. I was expecting the DA+ trigger to be nothing more than a gimmick but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is to shoot like that. I don't like carrying cocked and locked I prefer safety off hammer down so it works well for me but that is subjective. It you don't like it you could just not use it and never even realize it's there. I got the version with the novak sights which are nice but tend to snag on my holster.

Overall, it's a very nice gun and one that I really enjoy shooting. I would recommend it.

Most folks won't like the safety. Still a great gun though depending on the version.

>>28306708
Aside from the sights and the grips. And that's only THAT version of the gun. Also good lucky finding a DP51 with a warranty
>>
>>28312120

$675 is stupid expensive?

Most all steel handguns are pricey.

CZ 75 P01 is only a bit cheaper.

I own neither for the record.

>>
I really wanted to like that gun. Glad I got a chance to shoot one before buying one, ended up not liking it.
>>
>>28320295
>I bet you idiots think SIGs and HKs with their plastic and MIM are priced fairly though...right?
Nope. Honestly I don't like polymer framed pistols in either case. I own a Makarov and a DP-51 as my only semi-auto handguns. Honestly they fill the niche just fine. You don't need some high speed polymer framed bullshit for a CCW or to have fun at a range.
>>
>>28320295
The past 20 years have brought MIM a long way, they can hold sub .001" tolerances easily and they are as strong as the alternatives
>>
>>28320338
I also REALLY wanted to like it. I didn't have the chance to get my hands on one before I purchased it online.

I was incredibly disappointed--maybe mine was just a lemon, but the fit and finish sucked. There was an ugly gouge in the slide from when they installed the rear sight, and a nasty gouge on the frame where the ejector roll pin was installed. I sent it back to the manufacturer, they re-cerakoted the spot for me. I sold it as soon as I got it back. The finish was flaking off the magazine lips for whatever reason too, despite it being brand new. The slide also had a good bit of rattle, which isn't a deal breaker, but it annoyed me.

I also HATED the trigger, which kept me from keeping it despite having the repair done... The double action plus pull jolts the gun--you had to stack the trigger until it was back in single action, then reacquire the sights before finishing the pull. I was expecting a long, but smooth trigger in DA+; instead, it snaps the hammer back with enough tension to shake the gun in your hands. And the single action pull is just way too heavy. With the DA+ system AND a manual safety, giving you a single action trigger that stiff is inexcusable.

I was excited by all the comparisons this gun had to the S&W 59 series in reviews. It has a few neat gimmicks tacked on, but it doesn't hold a candle to to the gun it was supposedly based on. My used S&W 5906's trigger is pure sex, it's better than a Sig's, and it's accurate as fuck despite having a fairly worn barrel. The LH9 doesn't hold a candle to it.
>>
>>28306708
not true, the dp51 is more than the lh9 on black friday sale. I challenge you to find a new dp51 for $399
>>
>>28320429
>and they are as strong as the alternatives
No, they aren't. They may be perfect adequate if implemented correctly, but no way are they as strong as a well made forged or even investment cast equivalent.

Also, no pistol with as much MIM and plastic as an HK should cost as much as they do. It's a cost-cutting method of manufacturing gun parts, and the guns' price should reflect that.
>>
>>28320513
SAO stop samefagging.
>>
>>28320762
I don't know who that is, I don't pay attention to tripfags.

If you like the gun, good for you. It's probably a much better buy at the Black Friday price, but I didn't care for it at all. Just sharing my experience, take it or leave it.

your whole post is horseshit

the ejector is held in by 2 roll pins so which one was gouged?

the slide and frame tolerance is so tight that froglube stops this gun from working properly so your 'slide rattle' post is dubious at best.

the most damning part of your post is the trigger hate. The gun uses a forward moving pivot-at-the-base sear like the m9 and the sear surface on the hammer is so small there is almost no creep on this gun. The DA+ keeps the hammer's sear portion (it is free-moving and independant of the hammer) locked to the sear so when you're in SA mode there is no gritty creep, the slight tolerance allows both to move at the same time so the pull is extremely crisp.

The DA+ detent is VERY light. If you keep it lubed it is so glass-smooth you don't even notice it when pulling through the DA+. If you deliberately stage it from hammer-down to hammer-cocked it does kick back but the geometry of the hammer is such that there is almost no end-weight on the upswing. You were literally just making shit up to talk up your ancient as fuck 5906.

I still don't understand why people even bring up the 5906 when talking about the LH9. It's the most arbitrary connection I've ever seen in the firearms world. There's literally nothing alike between the 2 guns. They simply share the same magazine detent location.

video related: SA sear movement/creep. literally the most crisp trigger I own. I have an armalite national match trigger in my AR-15 that has more creep than this.

Compared to a stock CZ this gun blows it out the water for SA feel.

Pretty much everything here. I'd have posted the exact same information. Good buy from last year's black friday sale. Worth it.
