Do bullpup layouts help with recoil at all? It seems that they would because the gun is more "centered".
Also bullpup battle rifles yay or nay?
Nay

>Do bullpup layouts help with recoil at all?
no, most of the time it makes it worse or in some cases significantly worse
>Also bullpup battle rifles yay or nay?
Nay
Most are domestic designs that were adopted only because "muh nationalism" when there were far better rifles they could have used instead.
>>28304987
Australia wanted to adopt the m4 but colt wouldn't allow to produce them in Australia so they went with who would let them and adopted the steyr. But commandos and SAS use the m4. To me that says at least in this instance the non bullpup is better, right? People say it's because you can make the m4 more tacticool with accessories for sf stuff but new steyrs have all the rails and shit to mount stuff
Since the majority of the weight of the weapon is behind both of the shooter's hands, the rifle has a tendency to lever upwards more than a conventional rifle, resulting in greater muzzle flip.
>>28304987
Their one positive is you can potentially get more barrel length in an overall shorter package. That's about it.
>>28305242
Its more about cross training I think. If the Aus SAS work with the Americans or the actual SAS, its helpful to be using the same kit. It helps that ARs are light, have a massive aftermarket going back 50 years and an adjustable stock. The steyr has no adjustable stock and is a full kg heavier than an m4.
>>28305383
Ah, true
>>28305383
Ausarmy fag here. AUG doesn't work if its been submerged in water, well not until all the water drains out. They have also been training on the m16 since Vietnam. This is why the SAS use M4.
Other than that no real complaints. It's light and very accurate. Mag changes are a cunt at first, but that's what training is for
We should of kept the SLR desu
KelTec RFB. 7.62 platform with Specter TR 1/3/9. Add FAL 30 round magz and it is a field leveler at 200-600 meters.
Expensive kit, but the best I've had for CQ out to 800 meters. A little bit heavy with the optics, but so well balanced that it doesn't matter.
Also, the factory muzzle brake makes a huge difference in the recoil. (there are better ones available, but you need a true gunsmith to change one out. Not a simple vise and wrench job.
>>28304987
Yay.
>>28304987
>bullpup
shit gimmick
>battle rifle that isn't conventional
shit gimmick
you may close your thread now. Pic is what you're looking for in terms of recoil migitation
>>28307564
>close your thread
You're not from around here, are you?
>>28304987
If anything. It'll make recoil worse
>>28307574
>You're not from around here, are you?
seems like it, considering nobody in this thread knows what they're talking about.
yay
>>28305242
No it´s because the AUG is a fucking old-ass gun nobody really likes except for some amerifags.
Our military uses them and everybody hates them
so basically this
>Most are domestic designs that were adopted only because "muh nationalism" when there were far better rifles they could have used instead.
>>28307597
Yeah a suppressed 9mm sub-gun, that weights 9.5lbs.
>Seems legit
>>28307638
I only get off at the design of the integrated suppressor, do not judge me
>>28305529
>Ausarmy fag here. AUG doesn't work if its been submerged in water, well not until all the water drains out.
you'd get a catastrophic failure with an m4 or an m16 if you don't drain it
>>28304987
>recoil
Depends on the design. In general yes.
>bullpup battle rifle
Depends on the design. Some are good and some are shit.
>>28305529
Light? The SA2 weighs 4.4kg unloaded. If and when we get the EF88 though it'll be pretty sweet.
SCAR is definitely an outstanding BR. It is a bit long for getting in and out of vehicles without the stock folded. Thus my preference for the KelTec. But I do understand how using what you are issued, versus what you can afford forms opinions.
No one else likes bullpups then?
Personally I wish there were more 7.62 bullpups. I like the .30 cal family of weapons much more than the 5.56.

Spess gun from spess
90% of /k/ posts are social retards spouting unsubstantiated "facts" to other retards. 10% is other retards calling those retards retarded.
>>28308463
So which are you?
>>28307493
>Bullpup M14
Goodbye cruel wrold
>>28308601
In this instance, the 10%.
Obviously, you retard.
>>28308644
What kind of fudd are you? It's a simple drop in kit.
>>28308685
>implying I'm the social retard
God you're retarded. Faggot.
bamp
I would like to spend some time with the Desert Tech 7.62. Word is that it is an outstanding rifle. If it throws brass forward, as well as claimed, it should be a work horse.
But it doesn't look ambi in the pic above, and the optic is just wasted money at medium range, which the rifle is designed for.
>>28309634
Which picture? With the Rogue chassis it has an ambi charging handle and safety.
The last pic. Looks like you would cheek weld over the ejection port going left side.
>>28309821
Oh, ejection port isn't ambi. Unless they made a new version recently.
Either way why should they pander to the wrong handed population?
I'm not sure it is pandering. The FNH P-90 (PS-90 civ model) was a great design. Brass drops straight down. But you won‘t find ammo in the field, nor at most gun stores. I have one and it is great for CQ, but useless against body armour past 250 meters. It is a true ambi. So I also have my RFB which is my "go to weapon" for all tactical situations. It ejects spent brass through a tube above the muzzle brake.
Being able to stay behind cover, fanning from right to left is standard. Being able to do it left handed, without hot brass in your face, fanning left to right, from cover is a real advantage.
>>28309380
both are excessively heavy, unreliable pieces of shit.
>>28310383
I was joking m80
>>28310421
Ok.
>>28310421
The P90 is heavier than it needs to be but the RFB is only 8lb, not excessive for a .308
Every thread has assholes and opinions. My kits have served me reliably. Happy Holidays, I'm out.
