How different will combat be now that they're fighting a somewhat more conventional (using that term lightly) group? I mean would IEDS be more prolific this time around, since Daesh also has vehicles?
>>28303858
Daesh is not conventional at all, they have been showing off more because they are not fighting a organized military yet. The iraq army just ran off and the syrian army is understaffed and bogged down.
If the russians or americans move in in force they will ditch the toyotas and flags and fall back to hit and run tactics.
>daesh
stop
Liberals say daesh because they don't want to say "islamic state"
>>28304420
>daesh on my /k/
Fuck off wahhabi scum
>>28303858
Probably not that different, ISIS is more organized, trained and armed than the previous insurgency, but I doubt they'd be able to pull massed offensives like they do now with american air power actually doing something.
We'd probably see quite a few ATGM ambushes though, certainly more than in the previous war if there were any on it
>>28304440
are you a retarded liberal? So committed to mass immigration that you need to pretend terrorists/jihadists aren't muslims?
>>28304450
Calm your autism. "Daesh" is deregotory slang originating in the Middle East, not a PC term invented on a college campus. We all know it means Muslim terrorists. It's preferred because saying "Islamic State" legitimizes their political vision.
>>28304483
They are more legitimate than these socialist governments in the west, or the royality living large on oil money
>>28304483
Daesh is literally isis in arabic
kill yourself
>>28304503
You will lose the war, daesh
>>28304515
So what's wrong with saying Daesh again?
>>28304567
>LOOK AT ME IM SPECIAL I SAY STUFF IN ARABIC

>>28304567
It pisses them of for some reason
> Daesh, an acronym of ISIL's untranslated Arabic name al-Dawlah al-Islamīyah fī al-ʻIrāq wa-al-Shām.
>it is considered derogatory, resembling the Arabic words Daes (lit."one who crushes – or tramples down – something underfoot"), and Dāhis (loosely translated: "one who sows discord").
>Within areas under their control, ISIS therefore considers the use of the acronym Daesh punishable with flogging or cutting out of the tongue.
>>28304515
"Daesh" stands for "al-Dawla al-islamiya al-Iraq al-sham". Daesh also sounds similar to "Daes", which is one who crushes something under foot, and "Dahes", which is one who sows discord, thus the reason it is associated with being a derogatory term.

I keep waiting for signs that Syria is the new Spanish Civil War but the lines are too different. WWIII probably not in a few years.
Also Russia only wishes they were as intimidating as pre-war Germany.

Anyone who calls them "Da'esh" in ISIS-controlled territory will get the skin lashed off their back.
