So, I'm looking for a rifle as I will be getting spending money soon, I don't own a tactical rifle and am looking to get one, preferably with iron sights. I have a price limit of $2000, so /k/ WHATS the best tactical rifle?

AR-15 or AKM/AK-74, pretty much your main players right there in terms of tacticool.
If you want to drop a bunch of money on a super nice rifle then save up a little bit and buy a SCAR
If you want to save money and buy/build a nice BCM AR and have a nice chunk of change left over for ammo/optics/accessories, or buy an AK (I'd go with an SLR 104 for 5.45 or SLR 107 for 7.62) and have a nice chunk of change left over for ammo/optics/accessories.

Hold it right there OP, what you posted is a vz58 and while I love mine until death I can tell you that you will have issues finding many things to do with it. An AK has so many aftermarket options in comparison it's not even funny.
This is the extent of mine. Definately taking the spacer out while I have it mounted on the vz58 but you get the idea. Apart from a cheap-shit handguard there's not much more available out there.

If you really wanna go tacticool, you'll want optics. A decent red dot is night and day faster and clearer than irons, and you can always cowitness.

There's a ton of aftermarket shit for the vz58 out there. Not nearly as much as AKs and ARs but there's plenty of options if you look.

I'd say build an AR off BCM stuff and top it off with something from vortex and a bunch of pmags. And get a keymod handguard because you're going to buy one sooner or later anyways.

I'm trying for irons because I'm pretty sure batteries die on stuff that lights up and I don't want to have to pay to replace batteries every month, basically I'm looking for a SHTF Rifle right now, I will however get one with sights like that later
I have a thing for the FAL, any (I like the paras).
Not much in the tacticool department but it's one of those guns I really like to use.

Be aware mounts are pricey as the FAL eats through non heavy duty scopes because of the bolt but its out of OPs budged anyhow.

An "assault rifle" is a rifle that fires full auto and semi auto
Basically I'm trying to get a rifle that takes a magazine and has iron sights and isn't chambered in 22lr, I have no need for rails all along the side not does it have to be black
