This. For example, the Dutch Korps Commando Troepen was never closed to females.
The selection and training combined takes about 2 years and has about 80-95% (up to 100% for civilian candidates) attrition rate. Anyone that can get through that shit, regardless of gender, deserves to be an operator imo.
In the 65 year history of the KCT not a single woman has been able to complete the entire cycle though.
