No flaw
I wish i could have pic related
>tfw Winchester doesn't make these anymore
>tfw wouldn't get a chinkshit copy even if I could
Damn you videogames, stop making me want guns I can't have.
>>28264324
They pop up eyery now and then on usedtobefunbroker and armslist. Try for a later made one. Few improvments.
I have a late 93/97 myself from Norc/IAC and it's great. The trench model I'll get around to getting eventually.
>>28264324
Saw one at my lgs last time I went in. Whats a good price for it?
i want it just to slamfire
>>28265688
assuming you mean norinco, basic one without HS and bayolug, $400+. with HS and bayo maybe $550+
>>28264483
>absolutely love the model 97 trenchgun and want to use it
>caulk is so much better at killing crowds and has cheap as fuck ammo
damnit
>>28265706
I didn't take a good look at it, but it looked like OP's pic but only the gun.
Might go back to see if they still have it. Unfortunately I don't think i have the cash to drop on it atm.
Ha ha joke's on you guys, I ordered one from buds gun shop
I'm not even kidding. It's not a trench model, but you can get the heat shield/bayo lug for like 80 bucks or so online
>>28264324
The wood could be nicer.
Is the norinco one okay?
>>28266111
Yeah attaching that heat shield is a felony though brudda
I've got a Cimarron 1897
I slamfired it a couple of times and now the hammer doesn't catch correctly when you rack the slide. Took it to a gunsmith, he told me to mail the shotgun to Cimarron.
Haven't gotten around to it.
I like the gun other than it not working.
>>28266296
Yes. They are fine. As I said, wood could be nicer, but is otherwise a good shotgun.
>>28266393
>Attaching a heat shield
>Felony
What?
i would've bought a chingchong one if i didn't recently get a used 500.
>>28266410
Google it dude.
>>28266444
i did, couldnt find anything. please enlighten me.
>>28266444
Uh huh...
>>28266468
b8m8?
>>28266394
I bought one of those outlaws a month or two ago.
I sold it after one trip to the range because it was such shit lol
>>28266460
Shoot I'm genuinely sorry
I think I made a mistake. I remember wanting to put a heat shield on my Cimarron 1897 but finding out it would be illegal. I might be mistaken. I can't find anything either.
Cool, if my 1897 worked...
>>28264324
At the cabelas in my hometown they have 2 Ithaca 37 trenchguns and a winchester, bad feels. the cheapest one is like 1.6 grand
>>28265688
>>28265706
In Canada, the one I saw used was 450.
>>28265724
I enjoy it as a sidearm to the flamethrower
flammenwerfer has you covered for obligatory AoE, m97 works great for popping bloat and witch skulls open. I just wish it could slamfire like real life.

>find a flaw
Your picture is not of a takedown model.
One of the things that make this Winchester so cool was how it could be taken down unlike most modern pump actions where the magazine tube stays attached during a field strip.
This meant the gun could be stowed in a more compact manner.
So I guess the only flaw is that the gun is not the better version of itself.
There are some other neat features that not everyone knows about. Obviously slam fire but the arms (cartridge stops) that hold the bullets in are hinged via a bolt that goes into the receiver from the bottom. The "pins" on either side of the receiver are actually buttons that can be squeezed. Doing so ejects all the rounds out of the bottom of the receiver without the customary pain in the ass associated with newer pump actions. They're great guns.
One thing to watch out for when buying an 1897 is that earliest versions of this gun were chambered in 2.5" and not 2 3/4"

but you remove the ability to easily take down when you use a heatshield. I'm guessing OP wants the traditional trench gun look.
