Hey /k/ I just got this forged lower receiver, its made by Rainier Arms/Mega Arms. It looks like the trigger guard pin hole was made incorrectly. Is this serviceable? First AR so no idea.

Should work fine but I'd just send them an email, blem lowers have less wrong and are sold for far less.
Doesn't really look like anything and not exactly an integral part but just send it back if you don't like. Rainier service is awesome.

>will it work
People cobble shit together in their kitchen that reliably and safely shoots bullets. Of course it will work.
>are you stuck with it
Email the company, and at absolute worst they will send you a new lower and a return label for that one. At best they'll tell you to keep both.

looks like the metal got pushed up over the other bit there. take a small file and slowly and i mean, very slowly, file it off. it will void warranty, but it will look better. then take a black marker or something black and dab it. no one will be the wiser.

Thanks guys, I dont really care as long as I can properly install the trigger guard. I will email them about this as I've heard they have great customer service and would like the difference between this and a blem lower.
can you get another pic, rotated slightly around the X axis?
Can anyone aware me as to why ARs don't have the trigger guard molded into the receiver?

some do, usually milled and 80% relievers, and there's at least 1 or 2 companies that do forged.
not sure what "mil-spec" calls for but all the ones i've seen have a trigger guard as a separate piece.
