>Is it paranoid to wear a SUPER concealable vest everyday?
Talking 2a or 2, with stab 1 and ice pick 1.
>>
>>28102614
i don't know and I don't care, but I want to know where I can buy one that will stop 9mm and .45 fo cheap and be able to conceal it under a collared shirt

In a materials science lab, with a few million dollars worth of R&D.

im really skinny, I can do that

>Is it paranoid to wear a SUPER concealable vest everyday?
are you actually asking this question?
>>
>>28102721
Yes.
Is there benefits besides stopping bullets, knifes.

I'm talking both professionally and as a civilian commuter.
>>
>>28102660
Yea, but only 9mm, and 45acp. Nothing else.
2a is the smallest of the small.
>>
>>28102771
>Is there benefits besides stopping bullets, knifes.
like what? Are you expecting to get pussy by wearing it or something?
>>
>>28102721
What about Kevlar inserts in jackets or sweat shirts?
>>
>>28102787
car crashes, falls idk.

If its concealable or worn in clothing it shouldn't prevent me from getting some
>>
>>28102787
Maybe fights?

This is off duty as well.
>>
>>28102791
holy shit thats a good idea.

wut
seriously op, you're the definition of mall ninja.
>>
>>28102855
Eh, close. Still fit and good looking though.
Still being prepared and having it and not need it is better then, not having it and..
>>
Anyone interested in this?
Wondering if I should...
its $300 for one.

that is what I edc. I keep 2 plates in my truck in case shtf.
>>
>>28102801
A Kevlar vest isn't going to help in a car crash or a fall you dumbass
>>
>>28102917
there's a line between being prepared and being overly paranoid.
>>
>>28102670
You're my favorite trip.
>>
>>28102614
I have a level 2 vest with knife protection. It wouldn't be too hard to conceal it under a jacket or even a loose flannel shirt and coming from SAPI plates, I barley feel it on. As for practicality, I really doubt a civilian/non LEO would ever really br saved by it
>>
>>28103113
Do you carry a gun?
>>
>>28103174
yes, that's called being prepared. Did you see the part where I said there was a difference?
>>
>>28102791
Kevlar for itself will not stop a bullet
>>
>>28103290
in what situation do you need a gun?
>>
>>28103690
better than nothing, might help with slashing/weak knife attacks as well
>>
>>28102614
If you're not protecting your head then any vest is basically useless.

OP, a Kevlar vest actually does help quite a bit in car crashes. There is a lot of evidence supporting this that started to be collected after police officers wearing vests all day became a common occurance. Officers wearing vests have a much higher survival/non-injury rate in car crashes than those who are not wearing vests.

Anyone who tells you that a Kevlar vest is of no use in a car crash is talking out of their ass, and they should be ashamed of promoting ignorance.
>>
>>28102614
3A or else it's not worth it.
Edge/Spike protection is a plus.
>>
>>28105779
Yeah because SO many people get shot with magnum rounds and pistol carbines.

Newsflash: far better to have a comfortable vest that you will actually wear and that won't be so obvious, so long as it stops the large majority of threats you'd typically see. You're far more likely to get a knife waved in your face than have a mugger pull out a .44 magnum.
>>
>>28102614
Not anymore paranoid than carrying a firearm on you. Honestly, it's a damn good idea to get one whether you carry or not in a high crime area cause push comes to shove even a kill shot might not be enough to keep a bad guy from getting a couple sof shots on you.
>>
>>28105815
>3A vests are thicker than 2A vests
Bruh
I wear a 3A vest everyday and you can never tell I'm wearing one unless you know what to look for or are staring at my torso looking for odd prints. Higher protection levels don't mean thicker vests.
Body armor is something you should never skimp on. How much is your life worth?
>>
>>28105856
Truth brother.

Well I wore these boots to cut down a Christmas tree today (pupper not included) and it hasn't rained in a week. People seemed to think I had the right idea.
Just wear your plate carrier everywhere there's been a mass shooting I'd expect you get the same results.
>>
>>28102614
nothing is paranoid if it saves your life one day. just as long as you realize theres next to no chance itll ever be needed, why not?
>>
>>28105856

And how good is 3A at actually stopping a stab?

Buck angle says other wise.
That 2 is the best in terms of soft armor. In all category's.
>>
>>28107659
Shit, they add stab levels and ice pick levels. For both stab and slash.
It's normally chain mail or some different configuration of kevlar.

One dude was killed on the news. Because two security guards thought their vests were "stab proof" playing around.
>>
>>28104364
Falls, car crashes
>>
>>28107724

Side plates too? Would be nice to stop all levels. Heavy as shit with steal though.
Is it any good? conceable?
>>
>>28107726
Isn't that more because weight?

Op here

http://www.safeguardclothing.com/15-bullet-proof-vests/coolmax-carriers/coolmax-ii-bullet-1-stab-1-spike/

Mite get this, $265. Refurbished level 2 with 1 stab, and 1 ice pick.
>>
>>28107775
Yea, and heat. And thickness.

It's mainly because the only difference between 2 and 3a is 44mag rating.
>>
>>28107766
yes i do have side plates. i don't think its that heavy and it is very low profile so it conceals pretty well.
>>
>>28107833
What plates do you use?

Have you tried it with different clothing?

as long as you are not wearing something tight most people wont notice that you are wearing ba.

>I wear a 3A vest everyday and you can never tell I'm wearing one unless you know what to look for or are staring at my torso looking for odd prints.
Why do you wear one everyday? Honestly curious question, since during the summer most wouldn't choose to do that unless their job required it.

>Higher protection levels don't mean thicker vests.
That's not true though.

For the same type of material, you need more layers when moving from II to IIIa levels of protection. See:

Yes, they offer some materials that get vests thinner and lighter but when comparing the same material at different protection levels it will always be thinner to have it level II.
