Is there any benefit at all to a cross draw holster or is is just a gimmick?
>>
It requires two movements instead of three

Cross holster:
>reach hand to gun
>swing gun out and point at attacker

Side holster:
>move hand to gun
>lift gun up
>angle the gun and bring forward
>>
>>28096893
You can draw while sitting down.
That's pretty much it.
>>
>>28096893
Why do morons like you make these fucking threads every day
>>
>>28096919

this.

it made sense for people who rode horses back in the day, it makes sense for dudes on stakeout or something today.
>>
>>28096923
for how long can ammo be stored before it expires?
>>
>>28096931
Five days.
>>
>>28096893
are you playing poker at a table?
is your name doc Holiday?

yes its useful
>>
>>28096907
If that's true, why didn't Lee Van Cleef win in TGTBATU?
>>
>>28096931

2 days maximum before it is corrosive and toxic to have in your house. Will cause cancer in your dogs, spouse or children.

I run an official expired ammo treatment center. Email me at [email protected]
And we can schedule a pickup

As well as others have said about being able to draw while sitting, it allowed access to the pistol in long coats (such as drovers coats), didnt interfere with chaps, and was somewhat more comfortable when carrying a long barreled pistol.
>>
truck drivers like them, I personally would stick the rooty tooty point & shooty in the console however.
>>
>>28096949
Single action revolvers change the dynamics of the draw, firing from the hip using the off hand to fan. Also Blondie was faster

Here is the news: you are all a bunch of little children and need to grow up.
>>

I love threads I like this.

They make good conversation topics while waiting our turn at the kill house.
"I saw this thread last night, those kids on /K/ where arguing over cross draw v side draw'" fingers primary handgun in its drop leg and than back up hand gun in its chest rig.

You'll shoot your dick off kid.

For revolvers, the handle pointing forward can make it more comfortable, especially when seated.
For left handed people sitting in a car it is especially more comfortable and probably easier to draw from.
I've ruined several car seats via the handle digging into them when I drove.
So cross draw eliminates that and is more comfortable for some guns, particularly revolvers.

That said it is absolutely NOT better for defensive carry while walking. You have to reach across yourself and it's easier for a thug to counter, plus it's just a large not at all subtle movement. With the gun on the draw side, you can angle away and draw 100% "behind yourself" in terms of the attacker. It's better.

Initially I thought this was a cake. Then I clicked on it.

Cross draw is more of a thing in the wild west when sitting down like in a saddle or at a card table.

In the 11th century knights would have their dagger on their belt with the poit facing forward and the hilt back because cross drawing mounted was reserved for your sword and pulling the blade with your off hand and having the hilt forward could be locked, or itse someone else can draw your dagger.

Hence having a knife mounted upside down on your chest is gor paratroopers using it to cut out of tangled rigging and not combat smart in cqc.
>>
>>28096944
Refrigerate after opening.
>>
>>28096893
If you personally prefer the motion it will obviously work better for you. Also as others have mentioned its better for drawing from seated position.
>>
Cross draw holsters are a gimmick
I don't know of a single range that will let you shoot with a cross draw,
Also poor economy of motion means slow.

>Why did angeleyes lose?
Had nothing to do with the revolver or the rig.
Think about it.
Blondie unloaded Tuco's revolver as they slept in the foxhole by the blown up bridge.
Blondie knewche only needed to watch Angeleyes. Tuco wasn't a contender, but Angeleyes didn't know that. He was watching Tuco and Blondie.

Angeleyes lost because Blondie cheated.

Well then you go to shitty ranges.
>>
>>28096931

totally thought of deadmines in WoW
>>
>>28096893
cross draws always lose.
>>
Crossdraw's criticism stems from the sweeping of all non-target areas between 8:00 low and 12:00 level during condition red.

Drawing from strong side carry has only 12:00 low to 12:00 level in the shoot zone.
>>
>>28096907
>swinging gun out

Bro do you even know what the laser rule is?
>>
>>28102827
That's half
The other half is that the motion is easy to block during a struggle.
It's also obvious to everyone what you're doing.
>>
With crossdraw, you can rub the handle of your gun while you masturbate.
>>
>>28096893

You can draw it like how you draw a katana.
>>
>>28103389
Not unless you plan on either shooting at a 180 degree tilt or holstering the gun upside down.
>>

Gun safety autism is a symptom of historical appeasement to the gun control crowd.

>No really guns are perfectly safe because all responsible gun owners follow a strict code of rules Mrs. Brady!
Fuck you guns are dangerous and you can't have them anyway.

>>28101929
Wonder how Tuco never noticed. Surely such an experienced shooter would have noticed the weight difference.

One an ammo box is opened use within 5 days or refrigerate for up to 14 days.
>>
>>28104851
I prefer a low sitting IWB, low sitting IWB and appendix don't play well together for sitting.

Where I carry is just forward of 3 o'clock, enough so it doesn't imprint when I bend over or tear up my car seats.

I have an Ostome, with the bag in place I can not carry on my right side, so crossdraw or shoulder holster are my main options.
Since I live in an open carry state, with a lot of Old West history, and I have a twirly moustache, I carry crossdraw most of the time, probably why I also carry a Rugar Vaquero.

An executioner has tools, not weapons. They don't battle bound peoples' heads off with an axe or operate poison into bound peoples' veins.
