Why do so many of the cops responding to the San Bernardino shooting have Mini 14s?
>>
because they arent assault weapons and are much safer than evil ar15s
>>
>>
Americans have absolutely terrible haircuts
>>
Because it's what they have in the armory. Some of those are select fire acc556 rifles.
>>
>>28080365
SBCSD uses AC556 and Mini 14 rifles as patrol rifles because they were cheap, handy, and worked for both off road vehicles, cars, and boats. san bernardino county is pretty big
>>
>>28080460
Biggest county in the United States
>>
>>28080365
Because they needed a 5.56 rifle and mini 14s are cheaper/less evil than an AR.

But they're not.
>>

Me too. It looks industrial and I like it
>>
>>28080791
Not cheaper then your barging bin PSA AR, but cheaper than most respectable options.
>>
>>28080365

That's an excellent question. It's 2015... I'm not sure why this is happening.

Not to take away from the Mini 14, it's a good gun, but for LE's purposes there are better options. It looks like they're all running low capacity magazines with iron sights, as well. I guess it works... until it doesn't.

or even the cops try to have CA compliant guns, which the mini-14 appears to be
>>

They've been using them since the '80s after getting outgunned during the Norco shooting.

I saw on the news in the background this evening, a bunch of the sheriff guys were arriving on scene wearing plain shirts with blue jeans with their battle rattle thrown on over it.

For some reason I really like that look, it's almost like the "civilian operator" thing.
Anybody have any pictures of them?

I was told by a few SBCSD Rancho Division Sheriffs that they aren't able to have AR15 rifles because they look too scary for the public. He told me they went to the city council to get approval for AR15 rifles and were denied. Rancho Division doesn't have german shepherds either. Why? Because the city council said they're too aggressive. The Division has bloodhounds instead.

is correct.

Remember that winning the court case after the shooting is important, and the locals are less scared of "hunting rifles". The payout for being shot unjustifiably with an AR is higher than with a mini 14.
>>
>>28081607
Juneau's cheapest is $3:19 but then we always get screwed because they can.
>>
>>28080931
Not anymore. Mini 14s are $700, while ar15s that are good enough to fight with are at $550. Minis are better today than they use to be, because they have better barrels now and are much more accurate than they had a reputation for in the 90s.

Ruger AC-556 in 1974 was $199. the AC556 was discontinued in 1999 entirely, and support died in 2009. very likely these are up for replacement, but they were always very cheap rifles for bulk orders.

LAPD and other agencies got huge numbers of M16 rifles from the Army's DRMO, but at the time they were purchased SBC wasn't exactly huge on cash reserves.

Hell there are LE agencies in the US using SKS rifles (Wisconsin) and others using Galils.

I keep a M7000 in my patrol vehicle. It is a real nice firearm and I upgraded it with an railed optics mount and railed foregrip as required. Interestingly, we have the necessary LMG kits in patrol vehicles that carry the HK13E's. They can be converted with ninety seconds if warranted. They are supplied with one of the 150 round linkless box magazines each and seven STANAG magazines as standard.

Atheists are still the most at-risk and hated minority in the US. Most people in the bible-belt would rather live next to a Muslim, even if they are radicalized than an atheist. The AR explosion you are living in hasn't always been the case.

Sure, in 2015, choosing a Mini over an AR isn't a great choice, but that only became clear in the mid-late 2000's. Those guns were probably purchased way before that, and kudos to San Bernadino for at least seeing the value of carbines when almost every cruiser had an 870 in the trunk. I don't know, that big dude second front the right might be "obese" but he looks strong and fit as fuck. The thing with being chubby is you can create a balance of being bearmode and not being an out of shape beta by running and simply eating more food. I'm skellington tho, because even if I DO eat and lift I can not seem to get enough in my system to sustain growth.

Dude plain clothes operating is my fetish. Anyone have pictures of the "NOT RUSSIAN" operators in Ukraine wearing black hoodies and jeans?
