HK made their own MAG clone?
>>28062227
They've made several MAG variants.
The British Army's L7A2s are made by HK nowadays - trying to find a decent pic of one with HK proof marks
>>28062612
dont have any pics but all the gpmgs in my company's armoury are all have FN logos on them
>>28062692
Know when they were made?
All the ones I've seen have Royal Ordnance (the really old ones), Manroy (up until the early-2000s) or HK (recent) rollmarks
I know most have "FN Design" on the right-hand side of the receiver.
Pic related is one of the HK-manufactured barrels

HK barrel on what I think is a Manroy gun
HK also developed a version of the MAG/L7 with expensive, lightweight alloys since the Brits wanted to reduce the weight of the weapon. However these haven't been adopted
First version was mostly just an improved L7

Second versions was a bit more exotic, with an "improved" feed tray (with a little claw in the bottom that holds the belt) and a new stock.
Came in that horrible RAL 8000 colour

I just remembered that FN actually bought out the older British GPMG manufacturer Manroy Engineering, last year.
So it's definitely possible that we've switched back to "Manroy" (as was) and are now buying new guns with FN Herstal markings instead of continuing with the HK ones.
IIRC HK were contracted because of a shortage of GPMGs in Afghanistan that Manroy couldn't match demand for.
