Gas isn't that bad, it only takes a few dozen gallons of diesel, the tires are almost solid rubber and the website will ship you spares for cheap(ish), spare parts can be fabricated from furniture and an unconquerable love of the motherland, the entire thing is just regular steel alloy stuff, and as long as you don't ingest too much of the paint you'll be fine. Honestly if he has the money he should do it.

I talked to the Czech guys who run the site and to Vancouver it's 32500 for the btr, 4 spare tires, and deactivated weapons, but before you buy anything look up your countries demilitarization regulations or whatever cause they have have to cut holes all the way through the armor which in a btr 60 would render it un amphibious, Canada doesn't have silly laws like that as far as I'm aware
