They fall into about the same category as 1911's and CZ-75's. I guess it depends on your definition of "obsolete".

Why is this word getting tossed around so much recently? The Hi Power will shoot something dead just as much as a Glock, Sig, or FNX will. If your are talking about military use you could make the argument due to the weight I guess but the M9 fails in that department too. Not that it matters, since handguns see very very little use there outside of the range.
Unless you are talking about some very specific role that has very strict requirements, no gun is "obsolete" except for maybe black powder. Even then, it's still something really fun to shoot.

Nigga you what
no.
there's a difference between "latest and greatest" and obsolete. There might be better pistols, but it's not like the gunman with a hi power is at a SIGNIFICANT disadvantage against someone shooting a glock. there are much more important factors that will decide that contest. but for fun? for hd? no reason why you couldn't use a hi power

I know this is an old image. But. Source?
>>28032214
It's a thing that says 'bang', is about the size of a glock, holds more than 10 rounds of 9mm, and is dificult to make completely unserviceable. It does everything that a sidearm needs to do, and is therefore not obsolete.
Is the trigger on it as bad as people say?

>>28032214
Yes and no. Even though it gets compared to a 1911 a lot, theyre very similar
>from a different era, where they ruled
>have no been "replaced" more or less by smaller, lighter, cheaper to make, eaiser to break down pistols
but
>still very good at what they do
>still being used despite those other pistols should have wiped them out
Its the most up to date, but its still one of the best in both a classic and practical sense. If you can handle that then no, it isn't obsolete. If it bothers you then get a glock 17

Guns really haven't changed that much since the HP was made. Other than being made out of plastic which isn't really an improvement considering there are tradeoffs.
