Son, what you need for a proper fortification is a shovel and some concrete
>>

Depends on local ordinance in US. Your homeowners association could have a problem with it. You could also be held liable for someone cutting themselves on it.

>>
>>28027237

Ridiculously illegal. Setting traps pretty much invalidates any claim of home defense in most jurisdictions. Setting traps with explosive ordinance which is pretty fucking near impossible to come by legally pretty much invalidates any chance of your butthole not getting pounded into oblivion by a white supremacist named Bubba.

You'd need some kind of remote firing mechanism. Or perhaps one triggered by the dog's barking.

>>28027388

>>28027137
You know I actually was thinking if it was legal or not to use those type of wires for your property but I been concerned about laws but in times like these it really doesn't matter what you use to protect your property.

I planned on getting land out in the middle of nowhere and set it up soI can be self ssufficient and not worry about bills or taxes anymore and I planned on setting up a large razor wire fence wall that would run all around my property and run through some high electricity to the point it would turn anything into Kentucky Fried Chicken by just standing close to it and throw in some WW1 style barbe wires all over it and maybe throw in some metal spikes on the ground along the fence so that way my property is safe.

It's just an idea I thought about but I hope to get my own land soon so I don't have to deal with the money issue so much.
>>
>>28027281
I'm sure in a state of emergency you could set up trip wire to light a pack of black cats as an alert. Hell I'd do it during Katrina 2.0

I just want to get away from all the bills and rents you know?

Just set up my own solar panels, water well, food garden and my own home and I plan to do this once I get a large land.

I'm looking at Texas because of how much land they have and as well the fact that I would only have to pay the land tax just once a year for each which I can easily make up the money to pay for it from the welding job once I get one down there hopefully.

I just want to be self sufficient and have money to actually accumulate so I don't have to worry so much about financial issues.

I think it will get alot harder in the long run but a civil war can happen but not soon as everyone is making it out to be.

I'm not a paranoid tinfoil guy but I'm fully aware that times are going to get alot worse.

I could see getting land around here in Arkansas but I don't like state tax and the fact that Arkansas has more taxes you have to pay is not something I like.

So I'm looking into Texas because the land is cheaper on the long run and the land tax is actually affordable if you have a steady job going that is and really all you beed to do is just set up some rain catchers and add in some purification system ij them and as well dig a well deep into the ground were water is and your good to go.

>Hesco or Bremer?

Pic related is not uncommon in euroland.
You could say it's a viable alternative to HESCO barriers in locations where those would be frowned upon.
>>
>>28028152
I don't really care if it would be frowned upon though
>>
>>28027399
>dream perimeter

>realistic, legal perimeter
Concrete wall surrounding the main premise (the rest of the land would likely only be covered by a fence). Follow by some barricades that stops vehicles from getting too close, like czech hedgehogs or a moat.
>>
My advice is to layer your defenses.

Ideally you want a vehicle barrier as your first layer, than a man stopper like concertina wire and finally a grenade trench to stop incoming grenades being thrown from the man stopper.

Your vehicle barrier should not be good cover for people so ideally hedgehogs or concrete bollards. Man stopper should be tall enough or long enough to keep someone from jumping it, ensure it is staked down to avoid crawling. Grenade trench should be lined with broken glass or other sharp elements to prevent it from becoming cover.

Your fighting position ideally should have a chainlink fence over the firing slit to prevent grenades from being tossed in. You should have a bermed low crawl ditch escape exit from your fighting position, stand on the other side of your mantraps and ensure you cannot be seen while crawling 100yards using this trench.

Fake fighting positions with a pile of compost (thermal), spotlight (optical) and a black broomstick (optical) can also act as a force multiplier. If you want to get advanced you can legally pre-saturate your killing field with electronically triggered parachute flares (look into firework launchers) so you have constant illumination.

Attempt to funnel your targets towards your firing positions using natural (hedges, rocks, slopes) and manmade (concrete walls, hedgehogs, concertina wire) but ensure your funnels do not obstruct your field of fire or view.
>>
>>28028152
I never understood how these are really barriers.

Someone could just sneak up at night with a wire cutter, and literally all the rocks would fall out. Why not something more solid?
>>
>>28027137
Legal and 'not going to get sued so deeply into debt that you will have to sell the fillings from your teeth just the pay the lawyers to seize your belongings' are two very different things.
>>
>>28028208
>sneak up to a defended position
Ideally not
>All the rocks would fall out
They are sort of stacked in there so a single hole would not kill the entire thing
>Just cut it
See above, you would have to cut a lot.
>>
>>28028225
Assuming this is your only defense and you don't have 24/7 guards or motion detectors (although the latter are easy to get), someone can stick around for an hour just cutting through all the wire. Then last minute, pull a few stones out and watch it all collapse while running away.

If you're really this worried someone may attack you, don't you think they'd go the extra mile? If I was going to attack someone, I'd first try to defeat that barrier.
>>
Won't fortifications make people want to go into your property even more?
>>
>>28028245
>If you're really this worried someone may attack you, don't you think they'd go the extra mile?

static defenses are totally legal. Active traps are not.

Don't go mining, don't go build trip wires linked to grenades, don't even go putting lethal traps like bear traps that could catch somebody and do bodily harm. Snares, non-lethal traps, warning traps, anything that's not gonna have a chance of killing somebody you're good for, but in most states putting in something that kids wandering onto your property can accidently trip and kill or maim themselves will get the authorities down on you for criminal negligence amongst other things.
>>
>>28028959
oh, and in some states even nonlethal traps require you to get a trapping license, because they're going to be killing certain animals. Anything more worse than one of those cage traps they use to grab strays or racoons is gonna get you in trouble in those states.

Neighbourhood watch sticker, no cold callers & beware of dog (with pic of pitbull/german shephard whatevers not small & yappy) signs on gate also advised. Bell on gate too. All these thing cost little and will put off more random folk than nothing will.
Have your normal fence then an aearth mound/trench surrounding your property. Plant brambles on outer facing side of mound (mke sure it doesn't go over fence line. You can claim to be helping the local wildlife.

Large property. Bramble in a whole square around the property, nice and low-key and still aesthetically pleasing. A normal waist or chest-high rock wall with some pleasant gates inside that. The only breaks in that perimeter are a couple breaks for walking paths and a driveway.

Motorized, 10ft. tall sheer walls with coiled Concertina wire attached to the top that unfurls when the walls rise from the ground, and all pieces of mechanization on the inside of the walls to ensure no grip to climb the outside. Counter-weighted 4ft trench in front of the wall. If anyone somehow manages to get over the wall and wire, they will probably fall into the bramble, and then have to scramble over the other wall.
The only break in this wall is a single section that can open and extend a draw bridge dead-center with the front of the house, quite a distance back.

Cameras, timed lights, typical security system for general work where I can't throw up the walls for whatever reason. Keep a bunch of sandbags and Hesco bastions on hand to fortify within the walls in like a SHTF scenario. Have a good dog and guns everywhere.

This is, of course, overkill, but just a good general house setup if I'm incredibly rich. Might install armed robot sentries at some point if that becomes viable.

Lets the house be very, very secure while still being nice and non-threatening at most times of day. Though really, might want to just look at how they secure mansions in Hollywood or something.

50+ acres of land in rural bumfuck nowhere Texas

Outer boundary of the property is just a basic, 4 foot cedar post and barbwire fence. Some no trespassing signs, and the only gate is the entrance gate at the front of the property.

Then, a hundred (or two hundred) feet from this fence, is another cedar and barbwire fence, 5 foot tall. In between this fence and the outer fence is a bunch of purposefully planted heavy brush; think mesquite, poison oak/ivy, all sorts of thorny vines, and maybe some stinging trees. Maybe leave some rusted as fuck old barbed wire running across the ground in various places, or broken bottles and shards of glass. Only gate to get into this area is at the front entrance.

The next fence is an additional 100 feet from the last fence and is made out of some big cedar posts with small wire mesh and topped with barbed wire on top, 7 foot high in total. The area between this fence and the last fence is completely open, and is subdivided into multiple sections with a smaller 4 foot fence running from this fence to the last fence (see pic related). These sections would be used for cattle and other livestock raising and there would be a couple of steel gates on this fence.

The inside of the 7 foot tall fence would be divided into 2 areas by another 7 foot fence: crop growing area and the general living area. The general living area includes barns, utility buildings, cabins, etc. Inside of the general living area is the final perimeter: 8 foot high concrete "privacy" wall that encloses the area around the main house and the 60 foot tall windturbine, with a crow's nest and a small workshop at the base.

The whole point of so many damn fences would be to slow attackers down and make the risk/reward too imbalanced, redirecting them to easier targets. Also the open livestock pens create a no-mans land that can be covered by snipers in the crow's nest, the tops of the barns or second story of the house.

>could you but into smaller parcels and have the other two owned by off the shelf shell companies?

Depends on where you live. There is no federal law, and no state laws that I know of. However, I know for instance that Newark, New Jersey was trying to ban razor wire because it was ugly and made the place look like a prison or warzone. I'm sure there are plenty of towns and cities where things like razor wire or fences of similar materials would he against the laws or ordinances. Surely most home owners associations would never allow it.

But if you own some fairly rural land you could get away with it, as long as it wasn't concealed, and properly marked. So no digging ditches and filling them with wire toake tiger traps or any of that insane autistic nonsense.

Imagine your house caught on fire and the fore fighters were coming, of your property presents an unreasonable danger to them (traps, hidden pits behind walls, concealed razor wire etc) you would definitely be breaking laws.

Russian olive is introduced in much of the US, it has the potential to be invasive because it fixes its own nitrogen but it's not a particularly voracious grower. Cat's claw is native to the Amazon and therefore difficult to grow in the US unless you live in south Florida. Definitely not a good choice for a passively growing obstacle. Black locust is native to the southeast US but is invasive elsewhere; it grows as a tree, so while it does have thorns, it's not a very good obstacle either (it has excellent wood though if you're interested in felling it in a few decades). Of those you mentioned, hawthorn would make the best obstacle, but it is the most invasive one you listed, assuming you live in the US. It would certainly make a good natural obstacle if you live in Europe though.

But there is a consequence, mainly that your property values go down. A lot with junkers and graffiti and niggers is going to go down and value, and it also lowers the property value of your neighbors. So imagine how you'd feel if you were going to go sell your house but you couldn't because no one wants to live next to the guy with gallows in his front yard. HOAs ensure that everybody in the neighborhood keeps the value as high as possible on their home. Also not allowing niggers, loose animals, broken cars and shit makes it feel safer for the kids.
>>
>>28028103
what happens if you do actually piss off a home owners association?

They're just a group of your peers right? no legal power?
>>
>>28027137

It's legal, but you'd be liable for injuries if someone hurts themselves on it. Not a lawyer, but a good legal standard is whether or not a "reasonable person" could injure themselves.

Can someone trip and fall into your razor wire?
Could someone lean on it without realizing what it is?
Could someone walk into it in the dark?
Could it disconnect and fall into a sidewalk or roadway?
Does it present a danger to workers servicing raised or buried utilities?
Is it obvious to anyone and everyone where the wire is?
Would it be possible for a deaf, dumb, blind kid to find his way into your wire?

Concertina wire is an abnormally dangerous item. If you were ever called to answer before a judge or jury, you'll want to have two very good answers to these questions:

1) Why is concertina wire necessary (as opposed to just a fence or barricade)? Do you live in a high crime neighborhood? Are you storing valuable equipment?

2) Why does the answer to #1 outweigh the public interest in safety?
