Can anyone value this pistol for me? Some guy wants to trade it for my AR which I have about 1380 into and Im trying to figure out how much its worth, I see them going for anywhere between 700 and 2500 dollars.

Its a Polish P35, all matching serials, with the takedown lever, the grips may not be original. but it is Nazi Marked and would look nice next to my P38.

Its a colt 6920, I've got a Sopmod stock on it, MOE+ grip, MOE aluminum trigger guard, Wilson Combat paddle release, BADASS, and a Badger Ordinance enhanced charging handle lever,
>>
>>28021044

Worth $650-ish. Maybe $750 if it wasn't quite so scratched up but maybe that's just the pictures.
>>

What makes it less valuable than the 1500 dollar ones, the grips don't look original to me.

Should I buy a USPc in 9mm or a P2000? I'm looking for a compact HK to carry. I've already got a fullsize HK and I already have a subcompact carry gun.

A hammerless SA/DA USP9c would be sex, but so would a P2000, I felt a used P2000 at the funstore and it was great! Either way you will be happy, look at some videos on Youtube to help make your decision.
>>

Nazi marked. The VISes made under German occupation don't hold a candle to prewar examples
>>

Is that so, I told the guy the best I can do is like 500 plus the gun for my AR, I wasn't crazy about the aesthetics of that pistol anyways.

That's a bit of a low ball but not if you're taking it in trade. If it's not something you care for, fuck it.

Yeah that's a $700 example, those are replacement grips. The picture quality is shit too so it's hard to really tell.

I want to begin hunting and target shooting, but I have never shot a gun before. Do anyone have any recommendations for books/guides when it comes to hunting/shooting, or firearms in general? I guess there are no obvious best gun for either task either, but since the amount of guns I am allowed to own is also restricted, maybe some have some recommendations for firearms?

>>
>>28022365
I guess it really does come down to opinion on recommendations, but I'm looking for a handgun for target practice and a gun for hunting(mostly deer and birds). Self defense is also a factor. Maybe you could recommend me like what you consider top 3 in both categories I could check them out myself, or if you got some pros and cons for each that'd be great. Just to narrow it all down for me a bit.

Or maybe a book... I am willing to read up on stuff, but I don't know what I can trust.

Okay found something about restrictions:
>guns that are used as "war weapons"
>automatic guns
>no weapons camouflaged as another item

Don't know what the fuck war weapons are, but you might have an idea. Semiautomatic Shotguns and handguns are at least legal. Only two bullets in the shotgun when hunting, but no restrictions on other uses.

ammunition restriction:
>armor piercing
>fire starting
>explosive
>expanding

So I'm going to have about $700 to spend soon and want to buy a rifle (just for plinking at the range). I like military style guns like ARs and AKs and want to get something that's 5.56 or 7.62 (both real fuckin' NATO).

My lgs has a great deal on a Mossberg MVP FLEX in 7.62 (they want $500) which looks like a great choice for me, but they also have this shiny Glock 21 (fullsize .45acp, since you can't tell them apart) with a nickel finish. I happen to already have a box of .45acp as well. They want $600 for it.

So what do you think, /k/? Mossberg, Glock, or something else?

How long can you leave a black powder revolver loaded and still expect it to fire first time?

Either in a drawer, or as a carry gun for hiking
>>

Pretty much exactly. That is how I bought a $275 Sig 226. Fuck it. Take it or leave it. How badly do you want to get fucked up tonight?
>>
>>28023355
Not really that long. IIRC potassium nitrate is hygroscopic and corrosive, so you should really only load it when you plan on firing. Unless it is your only self defense arm, in which case, maybe a week.

You would want to own multiple copies of the same weapon, since a black powder weapon which is kept loaded all the time is going to go tits up fairly soon (as far as guns go.)

A black powder EDC gun can be practical in an arid environment, where there isn't much moisture to cause corrosion, or in heavily forested or wilderness areas where you can fire and clean it thoroughly every day.

Would there be any point at all to a .308 16" AR? I picked up stripped blemished upper and lower receivers from PSA for approximately $75 per, and I've got compatibility data from here http://out-of-battery.com/palmetto-state-armory-psa-ar-10-parts-compatability/ on what else I can slap on it. Looks like barrels and BCGs are the pricey bits, and I'm trying to do the whole mess super cheap (waiting for sales, etc). Only barrels I ever see cheap are 16". Does that totally neuter an AR-10? What about long range accuracy? My local range is opening 200 and 409 yard ranges, and I'd like a nice toy.

See if Palmetto State Armory has Black Friday deals still in effect. I think you can currently build gold standard poorfag AR-15s in 5.56 for<500 and 9mm for reasonable. 9mm requires a specific barrel, bcg, mag, and magwell adapter. Otherwise, you can get a regular lower (just drop the magwell adapter in it).

I have a USP compact tactical and a V3 P2000sk. Both handle immaculately and have never had a failure. P2000 is the better carry gun, 10+1 of 9mm is the perfect balance between size and capacity. The USP is awesome, and a very fun range gun or cold weather carry.

>>
>>28022904

Grab an SKS (or AK) , go innawoods

x39 is deliciously fun at the range.

Glock is definitely MEH tier for funtimes plinking.

For a funtime hundgun, I would recommend something non-military like a long barrel magnum revolver. Military sidearms are necessarily a point and click deal. If you MUST be that milfag, I guess a 1911 is my final offer.

Hi Powers are really beautiful looking guns with the right wood grips and polished blueing. But again, they aren't all that exciting nor challenging to fire.

>i can't think of a rifle that had that versatility. If you're looking for a multi-purpose hunting firearm consider a shotgun.

absolutely this.

Get one of those kits with the rifled and smooth barrel. If there is good turkey hunting nearby, you'll want to get an extra full choke and start patterning all kinds of ammo.

Also, so much fun shooting sport clay.

I helped my cousin pick out a nice browning auto 5. He got it tapped for interchangeable chokes. Trust me, it's a fuckload of fun to shoot.

He bagged a nice doe with it too, so you don't necessarily NEED a rifled barrel, Foster slugs have come a really long way and of course well aimed buckshot is still pretty ubiquitous here. Michigan has a shotgun only zone and people have gone to crazy lengths scoping out and accurizing dem scattergats.

Steel casing is cheaper iirc and is stronger than brass casings. This is good for slavs because they are
A.) Poor
B.) Their guns are deaigned to work in super cold weather, which means the rifles tend to be really rough on cycling rounds due to the higher pressures needed for gas operated weapons in cold climates. This could lead brass rounds to break whilst being ejected, whereas steel would be fine

And yet 5.56 isn't the most common caliber. I wonder why. Maybe it has something to do with the absolute fuckton of popular .308 rifles.

Yeah, sure, .22LR and 9mm beat it out. However, I can't find any hard evidence whatsoever stating that .308 is more common than 5.56, so I'm assuming you're just talking out of your ass. The best I can find is sales charts from a number of ammunition distributors wherein, surprise, 5.56 generally beats out .308. Which, you know, makes sense, as reason would stand that a cheaper caliber chambered for the most common rifle in America would be more common than .308.

That's weird. I've gone to ranges in 3 different states, from the early 90's to now, and you're very wrong. I assume you live in Alabama or Georgia or something?

Do Yugo Mausers have a chrome lined barrel? I know their sks and ak don't, but were the Mausers different? If it isn't chrome lined, how much does that really matter?
>>
>>28036037

supposedly non chrome lined barrels are more accurate. since its a bolt gun there really is no need for a chrome lined barrel. the chrome only really helps in high volume firing.

No, they don't. IIRC Yugoslavia has no domestic source of chromium, so they didn't use it in their firearms as a precaution against being unable to secure it internationally. This way, they don't have to change their designs.
