/k/, a coworker offered to sell me a Romanian ak assembled from a kit for $350. I don't know too much about it yet other than it has composite furniture and a tapco trigger. Pic related, what it probably looks like. I'm an AR guy, any thing I should look for? I know to make sure the fsp is not canted. Seems like a good deal and I may do it.

It looks like he crushed those rivets pretty badly, but it is very possible that the gun will still work just fine. Make sure that it will accept proper mags and not just those single-stack monstrosities.

Make sure you can test fire it and inspect it closely. If no issues I'd buy it.
Make sure that the sights aren't canted to shit, some magazine wobble is alright and is intentional so that basically any magazine will be accepted, just make sure they actually stay secured in the magazine well.
That's basically it. Maybe take off the dust cover to look around and make sure some shitty fudd job wasn't done to assemble it improperly, but unless if you know AKs it probably wouldn't stand out.
Three fiddy? Fucking do it, event if it turns out to be a meh lookimg, shootimg and cycling gun you can still beat the shit out of it or paint it retardedely and modify it if fucked up ways to entertain the potatoes down at /akg/

This was pretty much my thoughts, I've wanted an ak and have watched prices, cheap ones are about 500. Add the rail, aftermarket trigger, composite stock, you're at about 650. It's certainly a deal, just dont know where Romanian falls on the quality scale.

Full Romanian ak sold in Europe/used by Romanian army are a solid 7.55 tier with Russian at the 10 mark, wasr rifles are a solid 6 and kit build are either wasr tier or a little better

I have a Romanian AK with rails, tapco trigger, and a poly stock. Probably the exact gun you've got your eye on (it's an m+m m10 I think). I bought it new for $600 about 2-3 years ago, so if it seems to be in good shape you are getting a hell of a deal.
Only 2 things I haven't liked about it / is kind of a pain in the ass:
1. Some steel mags I've bought for it fit in so snug that I can't get them to release easily. It's easy enough to file them down to size though, so it's more of an inconvenience than anything
2. The rails are a pain in the ass to remove because of how snug and precisely they attach to the barrel. This used to drive me crazy because it made the gas tube really hard to get off. Then a gunsmith showed me this trick where you just slather Vaseline over a few key components and shoot a few rounds off which does a pretty decent job cleaning out the gas tube without removing it.
All in all, as long as it seems to be functional it sounds like a good deal. Go for it.

I mean if you trust the guy go for it.
But buying a firearm with no factory serials, it's technically illegal.
They'd have to prove you didn't build it, but still.

It might not have any... He knows his stuff, has a few AR's too. Gets all his parts from some guy that does gun porn that's pretty well known. It's probably something decent, but I remember a story about how it was built piece by piece and that the receiver needed machining possibly.

If it's not SAR parts kit, I wouldn't bother. If it is, I'd take to it someone I trust (if you can't do it yourself) to get the headspace checked out. From there, it's just looking for the usual problem areas.
