Yes.

The Sporting Shooters Association would enact Operation Khaleesi and thousands of hunters armed with bolt action .22]s, shotguns, lever guns and WW2 Lee Enfields would descend on the invaders and wipe them out like feral rabbits.

All whilst wearing flanno's and double plugger thongs. (blue singlet option tropical wear)

Obviously it is vital for Australia's defence to ally with the emu nation against the invader.
>>
Our government considers the US the only power that has the force projection necessary to do so and i'd agree with that as things stand right now.

You would need a Sino-Russian combined force with Indonesian cooperation to have any shot at your supply lines withstanding the intervention task forces that would descend upon you like naval locusts.
>>
>>28018338

Nah, they'd just let them invade and let the local wildlife kill them off.
>>
>>28018338
Who's invading?
>>
>>28018338
No, not in the long run.

If somebody wanted Australia the first thing they would do is barricade the sea lanes and choke the fuel supply. The domestic output is not sufficient.

The defence fuel cache is not unlimited... There are recent examples of this in play.

The only things we have going for is the size of the continent, however this really isn't a big deal as the majority of the population resides within a relatively small area.

doesn't Australia have the world's largest uranium supply?

seems like the solution would be to go full fallout, nuclear everything.
>>
>>28019236
It takes more than a decade to build a nuclear power plant, and construction of one is politically almost impossible.
>>
>>28019236
We have the capacity to refine and use it but the gov would get skinned alive for building ebil nuclear reactors
>>
>>28018338

depending on the size of the attack no, probably not
>>
Australia certainly can defend from a foreign invasion but not for extended periods of time.
We barely produce anything locally and we heavily rely on China for imports.
If we can manage to increase our local manufacturing capabilities then we might be able to defend for long periods of time.
>>
Australia has their own Red Dawn.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1456941/

They spend most of the movie crying.
>>
Anybody know some good books on this subject?
>>
All they have to do is hold off long enough for US and UK to show up. They can manage that, especially since there is so much open territory between Australian cities. Darwin may fall at most.
>>
>>28020646
And realistically China has to take the Philippians and Vietnam first, less they want their support route to be consistently attacked while invading Australia. By that time the US would certainly be mobilized in defense around Australia.
>>
>>28018338
Yes, if they were attacked by New Zealand. Might be a close thing though.
>>

>F-111

I swear to christ that thing has the ugliest fucking canopy of any aircraft in existence.
>>
>>28020646
>>28020663
Realistically you're going to notice that kind of troop build-up and all the troops being loaded onto landing ships pretty fast.

That said, i'm not sure China has the capability to move enough troops to Australia. They have alot of landing ships, but far fewer amphibious ships with that kind of range, plus all the auxillaries needed.
>>
>>28020668

That's not just any canopy though, that's an escape pod.
