I don't want to fork over $200+ for a gun, is there a way to get one for less like $50 tops or am I stuck with zip/pipe guns? If the latter is there a way to make the trigger mechanism with only a dremel and brazing as my tools?

You can make anything with a dremel if you try. At 50 bucks you cannot buy a functional firearm. May be able to grab a slightly busted breakaction shotgun or something.

Yup. Even the cheapest nugget cost like 150 nowadays, and used mossberg could go up to 200 bucks (unless you want a really fucked up ones that sat for years in some pawn shops)
A really well-made zip gun is more than adequate for survival-hunting or self defence
Even at $200 you won't get that much gun. Other than break action shotguns, your selection will be very low.
