How much ammo [per caliber] is enough?

How much ammo makes you a dirty hoarder?
>>
>enough

No such thing.

>How much ammo makes you a dirty hoarder?

Don't let other people tell you how to live your life.

It only makes you a dickish hoarder if you're snapping thousands of rounds all up at 1am from stores during a panic with no intent to actually shoot it.

During normal times (now is relatively stable in the market), eh, buying shit ain't hoarding.
>>
>>27948020
^^This. I have a thousand rounds for my rifle, a few hundred each for pistol and shotguns (even at the height of the panic, I could still get 12 gauge easily) and only four hundred for .22s. I am definitely no hoarder and wish I had ten times as much .22.
>>
You are such a fucking faggot holy shit

>how many gigabytes is enough
>how many SSD's and HDD's make you a dirty hoarder

>how many socks make you a dirty hoarder
>how many species of orchid on your property make you a hoarder
>how many dollars in your bank account make you a hoarder

How much is too much? When it's more than you want. What makes you a hoarder? When you think you are a hoarder

Fuck off retard

You look like you're in great shape OP but you have empty floor space and you could beef those shelves up and add another 40% ....money willing.

>>27948020
Screw you, prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance. You got caught out of ammo with your pants down and it's our fault?

I bet you're one of those idiots who thinks he'll just hit the Walmart as the shit starts hitting the fan to stock up on green beans and tuna fish, you gonna whine about the bastards who have big fat pantriesready to go?. So tired of lazy people who bitch about not having anything.

>How much ammo [per caliber] is enough?
Enough to me is surviving a big ammo panic without slowing down my shooting habits. I prefer more, and have enough to survive at least 2-3 in most calibers I shoot.
>How much ammo makes you a dirty hoarder?
IMO, it's when you have more than you'll ever shoot in your lifetime, and you know it, yet keep adding pallets worth of ammo anyway. Still, it's none of my damn business how much you have.
You're the worst if you are like the dirty 22lr hoarders who have plenty to ride out the panic, yet raid stores every damn day so normal shooters can't find anything. You aren't even paying "smart" stocking prices yet keep buying places out like clockwork.

At least 12 thousand rounds of X.39 and 15 crates of X.54r(?). Yep, you're a real ammosexual OP. Kisses.

How much ammo you should have is exactly how much ammo you can afford and store.

If you have roommates / housemates / rent then a private closet or a dedicated ammo safe is about the limit.
If you own a house with a family then a dedicated ammo/armory room is about the limit.
If you own a house alone then whatever you can fit in your fortified bunker in your basement.

Don't buy ammo you can't afford.

Don't buy all the ammo in a store before anyone else just because you're scared there won't be ammo.

Otherwise, buy all you wish. Personally, I don't see the point of having more than I can carry but whatever.
>>
I load up for the singular reason of being able to supply those around me, should such a need ever arise.
No shame in stacking up ammo.

25000

Explain.
>>
>>27952648
250 is way too little, unless you basically only shoot deer slayer calibers that are always in stock, or are content with only shooting a few mags, a couple times a year during a panic.
>25000
Even without 22lr, I'm well on my way to dirty your hoarder status.
>>
>>27952971
I basically set the bar for "enough" as "enough for one range trip". You can choose your own interpretation of course.
>>
How to store ammo?

Those cheap Plano cases look good for the money

What other containers would you recommend?
>>
Different question:

How much handgun, rifle and shotgun ammo do you never allow yourself to fall below, and immediately buy more to shoot?

I'd like triple the amount of 9mm and .223 but I'm happy with everything else.

Can anyone recommend me good .38spl plinking ammo online? I don't know which grain is best for overall shooting and fun.

>>27953704
freedom munitions .38 reloads are all good. i use 158 gr FMJ's and they are cheap. Check back if they are out of stock.

>storing ammo in original boxes
I literally don't understand why anyone does this. I like to min-max the fuck out of my ammo - rifle food goes on clips stacked in the most efficient possible way in the boxes, and pistol food goes in Tula boxes because they waste basically no space with excess packaging, unlike a lot of other brands.

>>
>>27954200
Sorry, didnt realize you were autistic. Carry on.
>>
>>27953770
I keep them in the boxes because I have lots of different brands in the same caliber. You're right though, I should pour all the Perfecta into one box. It's just taking up dead space and that's my "go-to" .223.

>>27953713
No reloads please. I was thinking of getting 1,000 rounds of ppu from SGammo.

Does bullet grain matter in .38spl out of a 4 inch barrel?
>>
>>27947943
Looks like OP could use more ammo, the shelving isn't bowed yet.
>>
>>27954285
>I should pour all the Perfecta into one box
Naw then it will waste even more space, loose ammo is terribly inefficient.
>>
>>27953704
Perfecta? Kek, have fun with your filthy ammo, pleb.

>>27947943
only .22 makes you a dirty hoarder, specificly if you buy them at the store before I get there.

I like knowing which brands I use.
>>
>>27947943
>How much ammo [per caliber] is enough?
It honestly depends on how much you shoot. If you shoot 300 rounds a month in one caliber, you will need at least ten times that much to last through a panic that can last a year, where ammo becomes scarce and you buy when you can.

So generally speaking, it's a rule of ten with the number based on how much you use in a month. If you shoot 20 rounds a month, a stockpile of 200 is not all that weird. You shoot 200 rounds a month, a stockpile of 2000 is not weird. So if you have five semiautos with different calibers, it's not really weird to have a stock of 10k rounds if you shoot a lot every month. If you also own a shotgun and shoot 50 shells a month, 500 stockpile. Shoot 25 hunting rifle rounds a month? 250 stockpile. Super competitor that goes 1000 rounds of 9mm a month? You know where this is going. This is provided that you have the room and budget to do so.

This only applies for common ammo.If the ammunition is becoming rare or rare, there is no real "limit" for you.

Hoarding is only hoarding when getting ammo starts ruining your life or it makes shit dangerous for people around you or if you just stock up on shit with no intention of becoming a seller in the future that doesn't have exorbitant prices.
>>
>>27947943
Depends, what you mean. If I come across a price I like for a round I know and love. I will buy it all. Regardless of volume. If not I'll buy enough to go to the range when I plan to at the price it is.

Down to my last 100rounds of 9mm and then i got maybe 1000rounds of .22lr

buying ~1500rounds of 9mm on pay day
