I actually like the 10/22 sights so I love it.
savages are complete shit. I have an auto and a bolt, while the guns them self's are ok the mags are complete shit. I've gone through 4 or 5 and they would start spitting out bullets after a handful of uses. My friend had the same problem with is 22 mag and we had take pliers to them to get them to work right.
Anyways. Get a ruger, add a can and have fun.
Only .22 rifle so far is a 10-22 TD-T which may get SBR'd in the future. My favorite .22 plinker is pic related though.

When the railroad replaces ties, they often leave plates of steel on or next to the tracks
If you walk down the tracks and get one of the plates. Use chain and connect the plate to a metal frame.

I was debating between an American Rimfire and a 10/22 as my first gun. I went with the 10/22, but I'm probably going to buy an American next.

They only make threaded barrels in 18" and the difference between standard and compact is only like an inch at the butt plate so they're essentially the same. Not only did I not have a choice but who wants to throw a 6 inch can on a 22 inch barrel?

Are you not allowed to have semiautos? The 10/22 is a good plinker, the target models are exceptional.
