Why do pilots wear the mask?
>>27907723
Heh
I wonder how many people couldn't figure this out
>>27907779
Why DO they need the mask?
I always see them take the fucking things off in movies.
What's even the point
>>27907821
If they take it off, they'll die
>>27907819
none because this is an 18+ board
>>27907821
It's a pressurized oxygen and nitrogen system, the reason you see pilots take it off in movies is that it adjusts for G load and can be painful.
During high G maneuvers it ups the pressure in the system to ensure your lungs are filled.

>>27907839
33yo here, I have no idea what that meant. Not from US, so maybe that's a the reason?

2X2= 4
A number is multiplied when beside brackets by whatever number is in the brackets.
Therefore 2(2U) = 4U
(ie it is a banepost)
>>27907853
just maths senpai, i guess its out of its natural environment so its hard to spot.
>>27907687
this is nice and all but where are the hookers i was promised?
>>27907687
Russian TV just announced that Blackjacks, Bears and Backfires conducted cruise missile strikes on Syrian targets today. News in English will probably come soon.

I feel like the Tu-160 deserves more discussion. I mean, it has the highest payload of any bomber ever created while still being able to go supersonic speeds of Mach 2.0+ and take off on short runways. The Tu-160 can hold 40,000 kg of ordinance at once, plus wing mounted cruise missiles.
It also has a very distinctive appearance when its wings are spread out, giving it the name White Swan. When fully extended, the Tu-160's wings have a span of 2193 inches. The Swan's four engines are each individually more powerful than the engine of an SR-71, and the four of them put together can output an astounding 220400 pounds of thrust! Those are the most powerful engines ever used in a combat aircraft.

Weren't those missles launched from ships in the Mediterranean?
>>27907845
It actually doesn't. It only launches cruise missles.
>>27908501
That was month ago. This happened just today.
>>27908497
>>27908497
That's one gorgeous plane, we clearly need to add a gun that takes up most of the fuselage, like the GAU on the A-10.
The BRRRRRRT would be amazing.
>>27908513
That was from the Caspian sea.
>>27908562
Yes it was. Month ago. Today they've shot missles from Tu-160 and Tu-95MS.

Lotta loyalty for a hired pilot
>>27908497
>Tu-160
>wing-mounted
>on variable wing
either you're mixing it up with Tu-95 or I need some citation on that.
>>27909440
Ehh wing-mounted stores on VG planes aren't impossible.
But he's probably mixed up. The Tu-160 has no wing hardpoints.
