I own a bodyguard .380 and a PPK/S, I regularly CC them in my back pocket. I hate nothing about the round.
380 with the right ammo performs well for self defense use.

My uncle has that exact pistol. Nickle and all. It's... okay. The trigger is total shit, though and it is needlessly large for a .380.
I picked up an LCP for really cheap a few weeks ago. I was surprised how un-shitty it is to shoot. Trigger pull is long and heavy, but not too gritty and it breaks well for me.

My trigger is pretty good, especially the SA and being "needlessly large" is merely a matter of you're personal perception of what the cartridge can do. Extra velocity, sight radius, capacity and control aren't bad things. It makes a pretty good teaching gun.
One version of this gun is what buffalo bore tests it's hard cast .380 in.

380 is only slightly less powerful and slightly more concealable.
I am 6'5" 260lbs so concealing is not hard for me and I prefer a more common caliber (9mm) so I don't need to stock yet another caliber.
Though I was thinking about getting a 380 just to have one. Probably roger lcp or the sig p238 though I hear the latter is overprice but nice looking garbage

if you're after a "just to have" .380 go with the LCP. Expect very little from it and you should be pleased with the result.
I'm 6'4" and though a larger pistol is still easy to conceal in waistband, most aren't really pocket sized. LCP is perfect for "oh shit i'm out of beer, better walk up to the corner store"

You got that right. I was dead set on buying a Bodyguard, but as luck would have it they were being displayed right next to P238s. I picked up the BG, then the P238, and I just didn't put the P238 back down. They're expensive for sure, but I don't think there's a comparable 380 out there right now.

Well spies just want a really small and concealable pistol for sneaking in to places to ehack the odd guard and pop themselves if they have to. Spies back in the fay weren't about getting the most effective combat pistol as they often operated in civilian centers where just the thought of having a gun is enough to intimedate a target into compliance.
I hate mine so much I carry it every day, so no one else has to!
